Plus, there have been hints dropped for months that Esme could have a turnaround. One is her complicated and toxic relationship with Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).
Esme’s Abandonment Issues
GH spoilers reveal that from the beginning, it has been mentioned that Esme has abandonment issues.
The closest person Esme ever had in her life was the former nanny.
After that, Esme latched on to Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and now is working with her alleged father, Ryan.
Even though Esme’s abandonment issues have her cling to certain people for dear life, it also has her turning on them in an instant.
GH Spoilers: Ryan Chamberlain’s Constant Disappointment
The current storyline is that Esme is Ryan’s secret daughter. However, there is reason to believe that the two really aren’t father and daughter. In fact, there is reason to believe that Esme’s real parents are in Port Charles and could be veteran characters.
Plus, Esme seems desperate to get Ryan’s approval. Each time Esme goes to him, she doesn’t get it.
No matter how proud Esme thinks Ryan will be, he is always talking about what a disappointment she is.
At one point, Ryan roughly grabbed Esme’s wrist. That is when Esme threatened to expose Ryan. So, if Ryan continues to do this to Esme, she just might make good on that threat.
Clues of Empathy Emerging
General Hospital spoilers reveal that most of the time, Esme is portrayed as a narcissistic young woman with no empathy.
However, there have been a few rare moments that show Esme does have a heart in there somewhere. Perhaps if Esme’s former nanny is found, that would bring out the character’s “good” side.
If Esme’s real parents are in Port Charles, then that could turn Esme around as well.
If abandonment is truly Esme’s core issue, having the unconditional love and support of parents could lead to a complete turnaround.
General Hospital Spoilers: Esme Prince’s Redemption
Esme has done quite a bit of damage in Port Charles. It’s only a matter of time before Esme’s devious deeds are exposed.
However, it seems that the writers might be planning to keep Esme around for a while. So, that suggests Esme might not go to prison.
Esme would need to give the authorities a bigger fish. As much as Esme spies on people, surely, she can give the bigger baddie on a silver platter to the DA.
Plus, if Esme’s parents are already in Port Charles, that would give her the connection to stay.
There is also Pohl’s comment to Soap Opera Digest about Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
The actress teased that Esme isn’t completely soulless and actually has real feelings for Nikolas. Perhaps that could be the key to redemption for the villain.
