General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, December 16, reveals that Rory Cabrera’s (Michael Blake Kruse) doctors tried to revive him, but it was no use. Portia Robinson (Tabyana Ali) told Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) that she was so sorry and held her daughter as she broke down over Rory’s death.
Trina requested a moment to say goodbye to Rory and lamented the things left unsaid as she cried next to his body.
While gathering his personal belongings, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) found an earring in Rory’s pocket, but it didn’t belong to Trina.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) took that earring for forensics since it might have DNA evidence.
Jordan called Rory’s parents to deliver the news of his death and couldn’t help but think about Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) as well as all the other cops the PCPD had lost.
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) wanted to talk to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) somewhere private, but she said Trina needed her now and joined her bestie in the chapel.
Trina got some comforting words and hugs before she was ready to go home with Portia.
Dante agreed to make sure Josslyn got home safely, but Cameron pulled her aside for a minute.
Although Josslyn wanted to talk earlier, she now wanted to wait since she couldn’t think of anything besides what happened to Rory.
When Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) found Laura Collins (Genie Francis) awaiting the launch, he convinced her not to take it since Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) wasn’t at Wyndemere right now.
Laura heard about Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) pulling the strings to get Spencer out of prison early and questioned his motives.
Since Nikolas looked like he’d lost his best friend, Laura quizzed him about what was wrong.
Once Nikolas admitted he’d betrayed everyone he loved, Laura wondered if this was about him cheating or something else.
However, Laura didn’t get a chance to quiz Nikolas more since she was summoned to the hospital following Rory’s attack.
At GH, Laura got updates from Jordan about snake venom being in Rory’s bloodwork. As a result, Dante suggested Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) might be back at it.
Liz blurted out that was impossible and covered by pointing out others like Cameron didn’t believe Esme was guilty.
Besides, Esme had the chance to finish Elizabeth off during their run-in and didn’t so any serious harm.
Liz took off from the hospital in a hurry and called Nikolas to warn him about potentially walking into a trap.
Nikolas seemed taken aback as he opened up the north tower door, but he was smiling over Esme’s Christmas tree when Liz found them together.
Elizabeth reeled as she realized Esme was indeed still Nikolas’ prisoner and couldn’t have been the real killer.
Liz privately warned Nikolas that their sacrifices were for nothing since a cop was stabbed to death by a hook tonight.
Back at the hospital, Spencer felt like a jerk for being so envious of Rory before, but Cameron Webber (William Lipton) said it wasn’t Spencer’s fault that he loved Trina, too.
Laura also spoke with Spencer alone and had faith in him, even if Spencer didn’t have faith in himself.
Despite previously hinting that he’d leave town, Spencer now planned to stick around and be there for Trina.
At the gallery, Ava Jerome (Maura West) played a snippet of Nikolas’ video confession over the phone for Victor, who agreed to come to the gallery.
Victor accepted a martini that Ava promised contained no arsenic.
Ava brought Victor up to speed on Nikolas sleeping with Liz, which he suspected.
The baby bombshell was what came as surprise to Victor, but Ava insisted Nikolas was starting a new family with Elizabeth.
Ava revealed that the divorce was happening like Victor wanted, but she expected the financial settlement to increase exponentially – that is if Victor hoped to avoid this video confession coming out in divorce court.
Victor watched the video and heard Nikolas’ admitting fatal revenge, but he acted like things had changed since Liz saw for herself that Esme wasn’t dead.
Now that Esme had been proven alive, Victor thought it would just look like Nikolas was covering for Ava.
Ava still didn’t think Victor wanted to roll the dice with his family’s sterling reputation, so he caved in and suggested they could work out an arrangement.
After Ava said she’d have to see the offer in writing, she rejected Victor’s fake sympathy and threw her glass in anger once he was gone.
In the Netherlands, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was discouraged about her stalled investigation with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), but he ultimately revealed he’d chosen their current location for a reason.
Valentin talked about a nearby diamond dealer who might have a connection to Victor and could potentially tell them where Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) was.
In the meantime, Anna and Valentin got passionate in the old windmill they were hiding out in.
General Hospital spoilers say Valentin and Anna will continue their mission as a team, so stay tuned to ABC’s GH.
