General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, December 9, teases that Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) pregnancy lie will stun Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) while Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) gets his last shot. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will also deliver a stern warning, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
Dex is on thin ice with Sonny since he botched the prison transport job and got help from Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) after he got shot.
Sonny has made it crystal clear that Dex needs to stay away from Josslyn, but that’ll be easier said than done since love’s blooming between them.
Nevertheless, Dex will hope to regain Sonny’s trust and convince him that he’s ready for more responsibilities.
Since Sonny’s got a risky deal in the works, this could be a game-changer and allow Dex to take Sonny down.
Sonny will warn Dex that some mistakes are too big to make and try to help him understand the dire situation.
This could be Dex’s last shot at proving himself to Sonny – and his last shot at destroying the boss as part of his plan with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).
As for Josslyn and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), they may find common ground.
Nina will try to establish some peace with Josslyn and could potentially help with the Dex drama since she’s got some sway with Sonny.
At Spring Ridge, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) will rehash her past with Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), which apparently includes a romance.
If Heather is Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) biological mother, that could certainly shake up this story in a big way.
Whatever the case, Heather may push Ryan to get real and stop pretending he’s locked in.
Perhaps Heather will see through the charade and demand honesty since she’ll want to team up.
GH spoilers hint that Heather and Ryan are on the verge of joining forces, so these two could become a powerful duo.
Next, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will burn with jealousy now that he’s heard Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) declare love for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali).
Rory will also give Trina a present to symbolize how he feels, but Spencer will reach the wrong conclusion about this whole display.
It’s possible Spencer will think a marriage proposal is happening or at least that Trina is all in on Rory.
However, Trina is far from certain about her future with the sweet yet dull cop. Rory is a nice guy, but Spencer is the person Trina can’t get out of her head.
As for Rory’s gift, he might offer a promise ring or even his own set of turtledoves if the writers want to truly make Spencer miserable.
Spencer will put on a brave face, but he’ll be sulking the entire time.
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will do his best to guide Spencer down the right path – both in love and in his complicated relationship with his father.
It turns out Spencer will unload on Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) later as he tries to process all the changes following his prison release.
At the hospital, Elizabeth will have to think fast when she realizes Finn is getting too close to the truth about Esme.
