General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, February 11 Recap – Liz’s Wedding Dress Shredded – Sonny Fumes Over Carly Divorce Alert

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, February 11, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) wedding dress was shredded while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) fumed over a divorce attorney phone alert. Let’s talk about how all Friday’s drama played out in “Valentine’s Day Part 1.”

At GH, Liz was excited for Terry Randolph (Cassandra James), who was meeting up with a guy from her dating app for a first date tonight.

Liz seemed tired as Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) came over and teased her since he was the one who slept on an uncomfortable couch.

That said, Finn didn’t think it would be so bad to crash on that couch again.

Finn’s conversation with Liz was interrupted when Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken) and Chet Driscoll (Chris Van Etten) walked over.

After they all worried about Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), Chet and Amy discussed the clothing drive for veterans in need.

Liz said her son was bringing a box from home any minute and ultimately dashed off to deal with a patient.

That left Finn to face Amy’s questions about his romance, but he declined to open up.

Amy also felt like Chet needed to stop filling his time with videogames and casual hookups. She wanted her brother to get back out there and find someone.

At the Metro Court, Marcus Taggert (Asante Jones) joined Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) since she was worried about Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), who hadn’t said much since she returned from her cabin trip.

Trina walked into an ambush and got miffed when Taggert brought up Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).

After Trina reassured her parents about Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) “meal girl stunt,” she acted like everything was fine.

Portia felt confident Esme was just jealous and threatened by Trina.

Portia had lots of praise for the wonderful young woman Trina had become – and so did Taggert.

In a moment alone with his ex, Taggert mentioned how Portia seemed lighter.

Taggert approved of Portia’s relationship with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) since it brought her the joy she deserved.

Portia thought Taggert should start dating again as well, but she had to cut things short after a phone notification about a patient.

Soon after, Portia called Curtis to cancel their Valentine’s Day plans, but she promised to make it up to him.

Trina wound up having some chocolate dessert with Taggert, who promised to always have her back.

Taggert also joked about having lots of friends at the police department and remained in protective dad mode.

At Charlie’s Pub, Sonny brought Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) some flowers since this was her first Valentine’s Day without Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton).

Phyllis and Sonny talked about how much they missed Lenny before the conversation shifted to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).

Sonny told an edited version of events regarding his grand gesture that didn’t pan out.

Sonny didn’t tell Phyllis about sleeping with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) or Carly walking in on it.

However, Sonny did admit Carly had made it clear their marriage was over.

Sonny felt he should accept it, but Phyllis thought that was bull.

Phyllis gave Sonny some tough love about rationalizing how he kept secrets and repeating the same mistakes. She didn’t think that was the way to rebuild trust.

That said, Phyllis suggested Sonny was wasting his time if he was looking for her permission to give up on his marriage.

Sonny appreciated the guidance and didn’t know what he would’ve done if Phyllis hadn’t stayed in Port Charles.

At the Metro Court, Carly had her assistant set up a meeting with a divorce lawyer.

Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) got updates and thought the move seemed awfully fast.

Once Sam found out what happened on The Haunted Star, she had sympathy for Carly.

Even so, Sam knew Sonny would be hurt once he found out Carly was taking action so soon.

Sam wondered if Carly was really ready to end her marriage and advised her to consider all her options.

Carly decided to move forward with her divorce attorney meeting tomorrow, but she was grateful for Sam’s advice and was indeed willing to keep her options open.

Next, Nina met up with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), so they discussed Maxie’s hostage situation along with the whole truth about Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) blackmail in Nixon Falls.

Ava also learned that Carly walked in on Nina and Sonny in bed together, so she was tickled pink.

Although Ava thought Sonny and Nina could be together, Nina wasn’t keen on exploiting Sonny’s pain.

Ava argued that Sonny and Carly might survive this if they had time to. That’s why Ava didn’t think Nina should give them that time.

Nina decided she had to do what was best for Sonny and give him space, but Ava still thought she was making a big mistake.

Meanwhile, Sonny got a phone alert that left him seething. He realized Carly accidentally put her divorce lawyer meeting on the calendar meant for the girls.

Sonny was furious since it hadn’t even been 24 hours! He also knew this lawyer, who was ruthless.

Sonny felt Carly was writing them off and calling the shots. Sonny ranted to Phyllis and acted like he wouldn’t stand for that.

Phyllis pointed out that like Lenny used to say, “it ain’t over ‘til it’s over.”

As Sonny started at the calendar notification, Nina walked in the pub and locked eyes with him.

Back at GH, Terry was all dressed up for her blind date.

Terry told Liz that her mystery man would be waiting at the bar in a teal shirt and confirmed that they knew everything about each other.

Terry ended up looking through Liz’s clothing donation box and found the dress Liz wore when she married Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).

Liz was stunned to see that the dress was shredded up and admitted she hadn’t looked in that garment bag for months.

Terry wondered if maybe something happened at the drycleaners, but Liz seemed more concerned.

Since today was Liz’s anniversary with Franco, she felt like this was some sort of omen.

Terry wanted to reschedule her date and be there for her friend, but Liz pretended to recall a tear when it came back from the drycleaners.

Liz suggested she didn’t realize how severe it was and sent Terry on her way.

When Finn appeared, he addressed not making Valentine’s Day plans with Liz since this was a difficult day for her.

Liz kept the shredded dress drama a secret and proposed a mellow family dinner with the kids, so Finn thought that sounded perfect.

Once Liz was alone, she examined the dress again and looked worried.

As for Terry, she made it to the bar and noticed Chet had a teal shirt on when he sat down next to her.

Terry smiled – clearly thinking Chet was her mystery man from the dating app.

General Hospital spoilers say Terry and Chet will have some fun despite their confusion, so don’t miss what’s in store!
