General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, July 8, teases that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will fight over her GH return while Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) new job is in jeopardy. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will also clash, so let’s talk about what’s coming up.
At the hospital, Britt will catch up with Terry, so they’ll discuss how work is going and commiserate over their stalled love lives.
Terry might be interested in giving Society Setups a try since everyone’s buzzing about it.
Britt will wish Terry luck no matter what she decides, but it’s obvious Britt doesn’t have a lot of faith in this matchmaking service.
While Terry and Britt are talking, there’ll be a surprise arrival. It looks like that’ll be Liz since the latest spoilers say she checked out of Shadybrook and now wants to return to work.
Britt will insist Liz needs clearance to do that, so Liz will lash out – especially when Terry backs Britt up.
Although Liz will reunite with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and share a kiss with him, he’ll worry that maybe she didn’t stay long enough to get the help she needed.
Across town, it seems Ned might eavesdrop on Cody during another little chat with Comet the horse.
Since Cody’s ultimate goal is to have his own ranch, he’s mostly just sticking around Port Charles to gather more intel on Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) from Britt.
Cody may hint about this arrangement being temporary and send up some red flags for Ned.
They need quality help that’ll stick around in the stables, so Ned will question if they already need to be searching for someone to replace Cody.
The show tries to pretend Cody is charming, so he may turn on that “charm” and try to fix his latest blunder.
That should work with Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), but she’ll be surprised when Ned has some suspicions and perhaps acts like Cody is shady.
Meanwhile, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will gamble on The Invader’s future by making a bet with Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison).
If the response to Gregory’s op-ed is more positive than negative, then Gregory will have more of a say in what Alexis publishes.
Next, Victor will fret over Anna’s mission to learn more about Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) clinic stint.
Since Valentin was actually on assignment in French Polynesia, Victor won’t want Anna digging around.
Victor will interrogate Anna about what she’s up to and work to find out more about her relationship with Valentin.
Anna will stonewall Victor for the most part – and she won’t be able to pry much out of him either.
As for Valentin, he’ll try to get Laura Collins (Genie Francis) out of the picture by making a special request.
That plan won’t work out very well, especially after Valentin starts talking like Laura is already out as the mayor.
Valentin will drug Laura’s drink for Victor’s scheme, but a crisis of conscience will lead to him knocking the glass out of her hand.
After Valentin fails to complete his assignment, Victor certainly isn’t going to be happy with him and will eventually take matters into his own hands.
After Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) apologizes and listens to Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) perspective, she’ll get the wrong idea.
Brook Lynn will assume Chase now supports her plan and will be ready to move full-speed ahead.
It won’t be quite that simple, but Brook Lynn will slowly convince Chase that maybe becoming a famous pop star wouldn’t be so bad.
General Hospital spoilers say Brook Lynn and Chase will go on an undercover mission at some point in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
