General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, May 20, reveals that Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) snapped Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) out of a scary scissors trance while Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) was stabbed and hospitalized.
At The Savoy, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) hinted for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to stay despite Bobbie Spencer’s (Jacklyn Zeman) dirty looks.
Bobbie eventually cornered Nina and clashed with her about the upcoming visitation hearing, so Nina took a jab about Bobbie’s scandalous past. That led to Bobbie throwing a drink in Nina’s face, which Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was thrilled about.
Carly also faced Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) questions about whether she was sick when he overheard something about the test results. Although Carly made it clear her personal business was no longer Sonny’s concern, she assured him that nothing was medically wrong.
Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) lashed out at Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) over Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) legal situation, so Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) intervened and got Taggert to back off.
When Jordan hinted about looking out for unsavory characters while Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was out of town, Portia worried his business was being threatened. Jordan acted like she was mostly just being cautious, so Portia approved of Curtis’ ex watching out for him.
Later, Jordan’s memory was triggered as she reflected on her time trapped with Portia – back when they feared they’d die in that basement. After Jordan remembered Portia saying she needed to tell Trina the truth about her father, she wondered if Portia ever did.
Portia suggested they were delusional down there without oxygen. She acted like Taggert was Trina’s father and would be part of any conversation that was necessary about him. Jordan offered a warning about secrets considering how things had gone down with Curtis and Marshall.
In Brooklyn, the mugging took a terrible turn over the clarinet that TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) put up a fight over. There was a struggle between Marshall and the guy with the knife, so Marshall wound up getting stabbed.
Curtis showed up to punch one of the baddies and help TJ, who shouted to call 911 for Marshall. Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) came along and picked up some clarinet pieces before the gang all went with Marshall to the hospital.
A doctor asked if there was any medical info they needed to know regarding Marshall, who lost a lot of blood but was stable. The doc mentioned wanting to run tests and rule out a traumatic brain injury.
TJ and Marshall mentioned blood pressure medication, but Curtis admitted they didn’t know much since Marshall had only recently come back into their lives.
TJ felt guilty over the clarinet drama, but Curtis insisted that it was important to Marshall and that he did right by his grandfather.
After TJ realized the clarinet wasn’t in the personal effects bag he’d been given, he wanted to return to the alley for it. Molly revealed the pieces she’d picked up, so TJ returned his focus to Marshall’s health and hoped for the best.
While Marshall was unconscious on Friday’s GH episode, Curtis visited his father’s bedside.
Back in Port Charles, Finn realized Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) was onto something since Liz was the only person present for every stalker incident.
During a conversation with Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison), Finn shared his theory that Liz was harassing herself. There was talk about how sleep aids can affect people in all sorts of ways – like sleepwalking.
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) came home and freaked out since Liz was sitting there cutting up Violet’s torn drawing. Liz cut Finn’s head out before he arrived to help Cameron deal with the scary situation.
Finn gently urged Liz to come out of her trance and got the scissors away from her. That left Liz freaking out since she didn’t remember coming back to the house and didn’t get why she’d destroy Violet’s drawing.
Finn explained his theory about Liz herself being behind the stalker incidents. Cam argued that Liz wouldn’t torment their family, but Finn meant unknowingly due to the sleeping medication or whatever else was going on.
It dawned on Liz that she might’ve slashed the dress, set the fire and even attacked Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), so she panicked even further. As Liz wondered what was happening to her, Finn pulled her close and offered reassurance about figuring this out.
At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) spent some extra time with Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) ahead of the visitation hearing.
Once Wiley was asleep, Willow worried about what would happen if the judge ruled in Nina’s favor. Michael offered a pep talk and made love to Willow upstairs soon after.
