General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, September 2, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) learned Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) cheated with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) while Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) went on a bracelet hunt.
By the Metro Court pool, Linc Brown (Dan Buran) caught Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) kissing Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and learned he was signing with her. Linc warned Chase to enjoy his career as a wedding singer and stomped off – leaving step one of Chase and Brook Lynn’s plan compete.
The goal was to eventually get Linc to buy out the contract. Chase pointed out that Brook Lynn had to make him a star as part of this plan, but she expressed confidence.
Nearby, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) flirted with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and assured her there was no rush on him moving in along with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Francis Carr). However, Sam thought Rocco should get settled before the school year began and suggested doing it tomorrow.
In Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) kitchen, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) supported Josslyn after her scary ordeal with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and learned Dex had stepped up as a hero.
Talk turned to Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) drunken night, but Josslyn and Cameron knew he wasn’t capable of hurting Ava like that. Joss eventually got a call about Avery Corinthos’ (Ava and Grace Scarola) charm bracelet, which she believed she’d left behind at GH.
When Spencer returned to his hotel suite, he decided to take a nap and had a horrible dream about Esme. Esme taunted Spencer since he wasn’t man enough for her – and now she’d taken both Nikolas and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) from him.
After Esme pointed out that Spencer’s plan didn’t work, she suggested he hadn’t come clean to Trina because he feared it wouldn’t make a difference.
Once Spencer woke up, he wrote Trina a letter to let her know he believed in her from that first day in the interrogation room. Spencer then hid the letter after a knock at the door.
Cameron stopped by to see Spencer, who made up a fake story for why he wasn’t with his family. Spencer told Cam that he’d see him in a few months, but Cameron insisted he would come visit his friend in Pentonville and gave him a hug.
There was also talk about Trina’s party, which Spencer eventually put on a suit for as he prepared to deliver the letter.
At GH, Dex was irritated when Sonny told him to guard Ava’s room until Frank arrived. Although Dex wanted to do more, Sonny reminded him that he was the one giving the orders.
When Michael Corinthos (temporarily played by Robert Adamson) appeared, he pointed out that trouble follows Sonny. Michael wondered if mob drama was the reason for Ava’s attack, but Sonny made it clear he had nothing to do with it.
Dex pretended to clash with Michael before turning his attention to Josslyn, who was on the hunt for Avery’s dropped charm bracelet. It was a gift from Ava, so Joss was determined to find it since her sister was going through enough right now.
Dex found out the janitor had already swept the area and taken the trash out. That led to Josslyn finding the right dumpster and preparing to dig through it, so she asked if Dex was going to help her.
Meanwhile, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) seemed unsteady on her feet after her shift, so Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) feared a fainting spell and pulled Willow into her office.
Terry still felt that Willow should tell Michael about her leukemia diagnosis, but Willow refused. When Michael tracked Willow down, she hinted about cutting back at the hospital and got his support since things were going to get busy with the new baby.
In Ava’s ICU room, Nina visited and realized Ava didn’t want Nikolas around. Ava confessed that Nikolas slept with Esme, but she was cagey about delaying payback and why Nik insisted they needed each other.
Nina was trying to quiz Ava about the details when Sonny appeared. Later, Sonny urged Nina to tell him what Ava admitted, so that put Nina in a tight spot since she promised not to spill.
As for Brook Lynn, she mulled over how she could get Chase in front of a crowd. When Brook Lynn saw Nina and Sonny by the Metro Court pool, inspiration seemed to strike.
Back with Ava, she told Frank the guard to take Nikolas’ name off the list of people allowed in her room.
It’s clear that Ava still has some concerns about Nik and what he’s capable of! As other GH news comes in, we’ll offer more updates.
