General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, September 23 Recap – Liz’s Island Photo Clue – Diane Hook Victim – Lucy Rejects Rescue

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, September 23, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) got an island photo clue while Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) was targeted as the next hook victim. Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) also rejected a rescue, so here’s how all the action played out.

At Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) garage, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) sat on the floor and begged her husband to tell her that he didn’t leave her.

When Sasha heard a noise, she called out Brando’s name until she saw it was Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Sasha assured Sonny that she knew it was impossible for Brando to show up, but it was hard to believe he was gone.

Sonny hugged Sasha and admitted he knew where to find her since this was Brando’s favorite place.

Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) called Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) to let her know Sasha was OK and reassured Sonny.

After Dex stepped away, Sasha cried over Brando not being there or anywhere else.

Sonny reflected on not being able to say goodbye to Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) and how they didn’t even have a body to bury.

Sometimes Sonny still went into crowds and scanned for Morgan since he just wanted to see his boy one last time.

Now that Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) was out of the ICU, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) brought her flowers and wondered where she’d go when she was discharged.

Once Ava declined Nina’s offer to stay at her place, Nina realized Ava would rather stay at Wyndemere.

Since Ava was also stalling on the divorce, Nina called her out for still being in love with Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).

Ava wasn’t sure she could live with herself if she gave Nikolas another chance, but Nina felt that Ava should forgive if that’s what she really wanted.

When Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) visited Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) office, he realized Finn had been looking at a pic of Reiko Finn on his phone.

Gregory asked what got Finn thinking about his late wife, but Finn got called away for a patient and left his phone on his desk.

Over with Elizabeth, she looked at the sketch that she’d drawn and wondered who the woman was.

Liz flashed to pulling back the woman’s hair and seeing Reiko’s face.

After Liz met up with Finn and told him she remembered the woman at the bottom of the staircase, she added that she didn’t recognize her.

Finn’s phone chimed with a message, so Liz picked it up and was stunned to see Reiko’s pic.

Elizabeth looked rattled as Finn talked about working in Doctors Without Borders and recognized the Mariana Islands near Guam where they’d been stationed.

Finn reflected on Reiko’s death due to Blackwood’s syndrome and told Liz about the new case that reminded him of Reiko.

Liz gripped her head and was frustrated over only remembering in snippets, so Finn gave her a kiss before she left to rest at home.

Once outside Finn’s office, Liz looked at the sketch that was identical to Reiko and seemed unsettled.

Once Liz made it back to her place, she dug out an old photo album and found a picture of herself with her sister, Sarah Webber (Sarah Laine).

According to the note on the back, it was taken on the Mariana Islands in 1997.

At the Metro Court, Diane praised Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) for her hook article and got updates on Alexis’ recent fight with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth).

Once Nikolas showed up, he spoke with Alexis privately and needed some straight talk.

Nikolas asked if it was time to give up on his marriage, though he admitted he didn’t want to.

Alexis thought talk was cheap and urged Nikolas to prove he was willing to risk something – just like Ava would have to give up her pride to reunite with him.

Afterward, Nikolas showed up to see Ava at GH and knew it’d take more than words to win her back.

That’s why Nikolas brought something else and handed over an envelope for Ava to open.

On The Haunted Star, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) said his wish was Lucy’s command and pushed Lucy to say what was on her mind.

Victor insisted Lucy must always be honest with him no matter what.

Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) threw Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) shoe to create a diversion for Johann (Max Decker).

While Johann was investigating, Valentin kicked him into the harbor.

Back with Lucy, she said she loved a man with a big plan and wanted a little hint about what was coming.

Before Victor could address the topic, the ship shook like it was stopping. A waiter then ran out and revealed that someone had gone overboard.

Lucy spoke with Valentin and Anna while Victor was investigating, so they admitted they were there to rescue Lucy.

However, Lucy didn’t want to be rescued and felt she was so close to scoring information.

Anna and Valentin reluctantly let Lucy keep at it, so they ran off to hide as Victor returned with a wet Johann, who couldn’t remember what happened due to an apparent concussion.

Johann didn’t recall seeing anyone and guessed maybe he lost his balance.

After Johann admitted he was drinking, Victor sent him to recover elsewhere and told Lucy that something was off.

Lucy eventually turned on the charm and wanted to get back to their “date.”

Although Lucy was spoken for, she laid it on thick and suggested Victor had her imagining what a future with him would look like.

Back at the garage, Sasha was in the office when Diane showed up.

Diane was serving as interim counsel needed to discuss some issues now that Brando was gone.

Sonny ranted about Diane grilling him at the visitation hearing and siding with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).

Diane defended herself, but Sonny felt she made it personal and asked how he could forget that.

Once Sasha reappeared, she wondered if she was going to prison now that Brando couldn’t be her guardian.

Diane said they would reevaluate and that she planned to file a continuance.

After Diane learned Brando’s paperwork was likely in his office, she stuck around to look at it while Sonny took Sasha home.

Sonny softened toward Diane and thanked her before urging Dex to lock up after Diane was done. Dex assured Sonny that he would take care of things there.

Later, Diane was alone looking at the paperwork when “The Hook” approached from behind holding his or her trademark weapon.

Once Alexis met up with Gregory, they talked about the open letter to the attacker and how they needed to give them just enough rope to hang themselves.

Back with Valentin and Anna, they made it off The Haunted Star and discussed the fun of working together.

Unfortunately, Anna remained worried about Lucy and felt it was a matter of when she’d need their help, not if.
