General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, September 9, tease that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) will be too late to see Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) after Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) spills his secret. This somber Cassadine will already be behind bars by the time Trina makes it to the PCPD.
Before we discuss the rest of Friday’s spoilers, we should mention a change in the schedule due to ongoing news coverage. The episode originally meant for Thursday, September 8, has been bumped to Friday, September 9.
Fortunately, we’ve got some new details on what’s happening, so let’s talk about what you can expect as the week winds down.
For starters, Ava will continue to block Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) from entering her hospital room, but she’ll welcome Trina’s friendly visit.
After Trina mentions Spencer and all the letter drama at the party, Ava will decide to reveal Spencer’s big secret – that he was only with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) to prove Trina’s innocence. Ava will contend that Spencer has carried a torch for Trina for quite some time.
Trina will realize that must’ve been what was in Spencer’s letter and will reel over his feelings for her. However, Ava will suggest anyone with eyes and half a brain would have feelings for Trina.
Before Trina makes any decisions, Ava will urge her to make sure she chooses someone who deserves her. Trina will eventually decide to race to the police station and try to see Spencer before his Pentonville sentence begins.
Over with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), he’ll warn that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will have to answer to him if he had anything to do with Ava’s stabbing. Later, Sonny will stop by to see Ava at the hospital and suspect she knows more about her attacker than she’s letting on.
As for Victor, he’ll interrupt a faceoff between Nikolas and Spencer at the PCPD. Spencer will once again threaten to spill the beans about Nik and Esme’s hookup, but Victor will insist Spencer’s going to keep his mouth shut.
Spencer will continue to clash with Nikolas anyway and will even suggest he might’ve been the one to hook Ava. Since Ava won’t be letting Nikolas in her room, Spencer will hint that maybe she’s onto his father.
After Spencer basically assures Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) that he’s not a threat to his relationship with Trina, Rory will make it clear that he’s not worried. Nevertheless, Rory will also want to make sure Spencer doesn’t haunt Trina from prison and hang over her attempt to move on.
Since Rory will have some concerns about winning Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) over, he’ll turn to Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) for tips about getting on his good side. Jordan will think Rory is overstepping a bit, but her advice will be for Rory to just be himself.
Next, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) will fear change and will view Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) as a stranger, but Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) will see the potential to welcome a new family member. Mac will also consider the possibility that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will go poking for answers around herself.
At GH, Maxie will clash with Cody about Mac’s recent questions. As the tension over Maxie’s stepfather heats up, she’ll eventually suggest to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) that maybe she was wrong – that maybe Britt shouldn’t give Cody another chance.
Although Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will think Cody is a good guy at his core, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will feel the need to keep an eye on him and protect his family. Despite Cody’s past shenanigans, Sam won’t think that necessarily means he’s up to something now.
Back at the PCPD, Trina will race in and fling open the interrogation room door. Rory will admit that Spencer is already gone, so that’ll leave Trina distraught.
Meanwhile, viewers will see sad Spencer in his orange jumpsuit. Spencer will be stuck in his cell and will have no idea that Trina finally knows the truth.
