General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that GH is back to filming, so the ABC soap has resumed production after a recent delay. The show was all set to begin shooting again following their holiday break, but the decision was made to push back their restart date – just to be cautious regarding the surge in COVID-19 cases.
A handful of ABC primetime shows also delayed resuming production by a week or so. Thankfully, General Hospital’s production delay is already over, so now the cast and crew are back to making some exciting episodes behind the scenes.
Wally Kurth (Ned Quartermaine) had been growing out a beard during his time off for the holidays, but he confirmed on Instagram that he’d have to shave it since he resumed filming on January 10. Of course, plenty of other fan favorites are back on set and ready to deliver fantastic drama as well.
Some fans were concerned this might turn into another lengthy pandemic-related shutdown, but it was just a short holiday break extension. It proved to be a minor pause on the shooting schedule and won’t affect the on-air schedule at all.
That’s great news since some major twists and turns are about to hit Port Charles in the months ahead. Several storylines are heating up in a big way and seem poised to reach a climax – particularly the chaos surrounding Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and his “missing” daughter.
Peter doesn’t realize Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) is still living in Port Charles – right there in plain sight! Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is counting on Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) to protect Louise no matter what, but some bombshells may be brewing that are beyond their control.
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will inevitably make an even bigger mess – and Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) marriage will remain a mess, too. He’ll continue to be torn between Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), but Carly’s outage could push him back in Nina’s direction if she’s not careful.
So many hot stories are about to get even hotter, so it’s a good thing GH has resumed production and can keep all the drama going strong! We’ll fill you in as other updates become available.
