General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) may be “haunting” Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). Could Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) mother be behind the gaslighting situation that’s happening? Let’s consider all the eerie clues and determine what we know so far.
The trouble started after Liz removed her wedding ring and moved forward with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
It seems like the person doing this doesn’t want Liz to start a new romance. If Heather is indeed to blame, it makes sense that she’d be upset with Liz for forgetting Franco.
The show hasn’t explored Heather’s grief over the loss, so this would be a good opportunity.
Plus, GH has been making an effort to include more characters and storylines from the past lately.
This is their big chance to put Heather Webber back in the action.
Liz was unnerved over her wedding ring showing up in her locker.
Then, Franco’s art studio burned in a fire. Liz also got trapped in a room at GH briefly when the door slammed and jammed on her.
That door drama seemingly proved that Liz isn’t suffering from dissociative identity disorder or having some sort of breakdown.
We saw that Liz wasn’t anywhere near the door when it slammed – and we watched her physically struggle to pry it open.
It wasn’t something Liz imagined or did herself.
Of course, there’s a chance that particular incident really was the result of a draft like Liz guessed.
In that case, the writers might be trying to throw fans off the trail.
Liz does seem pretty out of it lately, so that’s led to plenty of speculation that she may be doing all this without realizing it.
However, perhaps the person “haunting” Liz – potentially Heather – is just achieving their goal.
Who wouldn’t lose sleep and become a bit disoriented with everything that’s going on?
Liz no doubt feels like she’s going crazy, which is the whole point of a gaslighting plot.
That brings us to the latest incident, which involved the dress Liz wore when she married Franco.
Liz felt like it was some sort of omen when the shredded dress came into play on Valentine’s Day, which was their anniversary. It was definitely an unsettling discovery.
The three biggest factors here are: 1) the haunting began right as Liz tried to move on, 2) it’s all related to Franco and 3) the stuff that’s happening is downright psychotic.
Maybe Heather Webber escaped or has been sneaking out of the asylum to thwart Liz’s attempt to put Franco behind her.
Whatever the case, it’s an interesting possibility to consider while we wait for a solution to this mystery.
