General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) may spy Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) in an intimate moment. Will Maxie realize she’s too late to make her move on the doc?
GH fans know Britt and Austin have definitely been growing closer lately. You could argue those scenes are purely about friendship, but we’d say there could be more to the story.
The show’s devoting an awful lot of time to Austin and Britt’s connection, which is something they probably wouldn’t do unless something romantic was going to happen. It’d just be weird to spend this much time on a duo without any romantic plans for them at all.
That’s especially true since this trend of Britt and Austin growing closer will continue. There are plenty more scenes to come, so there’s definitely the potential for Austin and Britt to face some flying sparks.
Austin offered to be Britt’s wingman recently, but their night at The Savoy didn’t bring any real dating prospects. The whole point of the night seemed to be opening Britt’s eyes to Austin’s crush on Maxie and his insistence that she wasn’t really available to date.
Although Britt had hope for Austin and Maxie’s future, it may be Britt herself who finds herself drawn to Austin more than ever. They’ll share some close moments as Britt asks about Leo Falconeri’s (Easton Rocket Sweda) case, so Britt may praise Austin for how much he cares and the interest he’s taken in the boy.
Right around this time, Maxie will feel hurt as she makes an unlucky discovery. She’ll realize something unfortunate during the week of January 17-21, so maybe she’ll spot Austin and Britt looking rather cozy. Maxie may assume she’s too late to make her move and feel hurt as a result.
Things could get messy since Maxie considers Britt a friend and may not want to interfere in their romantic path forward. However, Britt might be willing to step aside in the end. There’s even a chance Britt could intentionally try to stir up some jealousy and get things moving in the right direction for Maxie and Austin.
Whatever the case, it sounds like there’ll be a love triangle-ish situation, so that could bring some fun! As other GH news and updates come in, we’ll keep posted.
