Since Maxie already feels like Austin has been avoiding her, she may soon worry that an affair with Britt is the reason why.
Maxie has been suspicious and on edge, so the show could lean into that and have her fear some cheating is going on.
Perhaps Maxie will eventually put the wrong clues together and accuse Austin of betraying her with Britt.
Of course, this would actually be a double betrayal for Maxie since Britt is like family to her.
The thought of Austin and Britt hurting her like this would leave Maxie reeling.
Maxie may assume the reason Britt has been pushing Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) away is because she’s falling for Austin.
We know a confrontation is brewing between Austin and Maxie during the week of December 12-16, so that could be when it all hits the fan.
General Hospital spoilers say Maxie will get upset over Austin’s behavior, so this could lead to the truth coming out.
Britt may ultimately confess so that Maxie doesn’t think Austin is a cheating scoundrel.
Even so, Maxie won’t be happy about Austin keeping something so huge from her.
Austin may argue that it wasn’t his secret to tell, but that may not be good enough for Maxie – especially since Austin has other family secrets that are on the verge of unraveling.
