General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, December 12 Recap – Ryan & Heather’s Revenge for Esme – Denise Lies to Drew on Carly’s Orders

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, December 12, reveals that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and Heather Webber (Alley Mills) plotted revenge for Esme Prince (Avery Pohl). Denise McKenzie (Alex Rietveld) also lied to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) on Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) orders, so here’s how all the GH drama went down.

At Spring Ridge, Heather was shocked to learn Ryan knew their daughter existed since she went to great lengths to make sure Esme wouldn’t be found.

Although Heather argued they couldn’t make a life for a kid, Ryan said they could’ve tried.

Ryan also admitted that Esme had been coming to see him for months.

It turns out Esme found Ryan through one of his “souvenirs” from a special chain of keepsakes – one that Heather had stolen.

The items on that chain could tell a lot of tales, so Ryan said he’d hold Heather responsible if it fell into the wrong hands.

Heather recalled how Baby Esme broke the chain and sent the keepsakes flying.

Although Heather tried to clean them all up, Esme still had one with her when social services found her.

Heather wanted to hear what Esme was like, but Ryan admitted she was missing.

Once Ryan talked about Ava Jerome (Maura West) sending Esme over the parapet, he assured Heather that he saw Esme again after that.

However, Ryan knew that if Esme was out of touch now, it was because she couldn’t send word. Ryan suspected this had something to do with the Cassadines.

Heather argued that if they harmed one hair on Esme’s head, she’d make them pay.

Ryan made it clear that he would help Heather make them pay and stood up to prove he wasn’t stuck in that chair.

Heather seemed quite interested in heating things back up with Ryan, but she felt Esme had to be their priority.

Ryan agreed they had to find out what happened to Esme and punish those responsible.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) brought Esme a small Christmas tree and shut down the idea of her shopping for one herself.

Esme grumbled as she used toilet paper to decorate that tree, but Demetrius eventually brought her a few ornaments and lights.

Once Esme dried her eyes and expressed her gratitude, Demetrius left. The wheels were turning for Esme, who hinted to her baby that Grandpa had shown them the way.

At GH, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) lied about being pregnant and claimed Nikolas was the father.

Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) felt like a fool and was furious over Liz turning to Nik over him.

At one point, Finn flung a tray in his anger and refused to protect Nikolas in all this Esme business.

Liz asked for one favor since her sons didn’t know, so Finn said he’d never do anything to hurt her boys and took off.

Next, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) couldn’t get Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) off her mind, so she was relieved when Ava arrived.

Trina needed Ava to stop her from making a big mistake since Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) was everything she should want in a guy.

Ava knew it wasn’t that simple and urged Trina to listen to her heart.

Trina worried that doing that could lead to more heartbreak, but she also couldn’t pretend she had the same feelings for Rory that she had for Spencer.

Ava felt that Trina had to drown at the noise and listen to the voice inside.

As for Ava herself, she knew what her own voice was telling her about Nikolas. It was just a matter of whether she’d listen to it.

During their discussion, Ava also warned Trina that Esme might not be “The Hook” after all and explained the clue Ryan had picked up on.

At Wyndemere, Spencer came blowing in and downed some sherry since they were out of whiskey.

Once Spencer made it clear he wasn’t looking for a lecture on underage drinking, he acted like Nikolas didn’t care about his problems.

Nikolas insisted that he cared along with a lot of other people and got updates on Spencer finding Trina with Rory.

Now that Trina had someone worthy who loved her, Spencer thought she loved Rory back and assumed it was too late for him.

Nikolas didn’t think it was too late and recalled a book that Spencer loved when he was a kid about a baby bird.

The story was about holding onto hope, so Spencer ultimately decided he would after a text from Trina welcomed him home.

Once Spencer headed upstairs, Ava showed up at the door to see Nikolas.

Since Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) had to cancel dinner plans for a business trip, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) had dinner with Carly at the Metro Court instead.

Willow talked about the relatives hoped to discover and hinted about the thought of losing time with her family keeping her up at night.

Carly wondered if Willow was OK, so Willow admitted she was far from it – though she covered by acting like this was about what happened to Jonah.

Meanwhile, Drew met with Denise and backed up Harmony Miller’s (Inga Cadranel) story about a woman named Joan being Willow’s birth mother and abandoning her on the commune.

Denise claimed Joan got mixed up with drugs and eventually died of an overdose.

After Denise said she assumed Joan was an only child, Drew asked about Willow’s birth father.

Denise had no other info to offer and suggested that Josiah the commune leader was the only one close to Joan.

Once Drew thanked Denise and parted ways with her, he found Willow and Carly in the Metro Court restaurant.

Carly decided to give them some privacy since Drew had info on the search for Willow’s biological mother.

Although Drew felt he should verify this info first, Willow couldn’t wait that long. Drew said he was sorry and admitted that it wasn’t great news.

Back with Carly, she caught up with Denise to ask how the conversation went. Denise confirmed that it went exactly how Carly wanted it to and alluded to their own meeting last night.

General Hospital spoilers say Carly’s sabotage plot will come with some obstacles, so stay tuned!
