General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Monday, January 17, tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will consider a legal step while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) gets alarming news. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will also shut down Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) plan, so here’s what viewers can expect.
At The Savoy, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will catch up with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), who’ll no doubt offer his condolences regarding Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary).
Curtis will offer support if Laura needs it, but she’ll think maybe he’s the one who could use support right now.
The conversation will shift to Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett), who finally offered some answers – though not enough for Curtis’ taste.
Curtis now has to worry about this mysterious mob player and the potential for danger, so he’ll have a lot on his mind.
Laura will wonder if Curtis is ready to accept his father back into his life, but Curtis seemingly won’t have reached that point just yet.
This will continue to be a slow and difficult process since there are old wounds that still need to heal.
At GH, Marshall will pay Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) a visit and question her about not following her dream – presumably a singing career.
Marshall wonder why and get Epiphany to open up about the road not traveled.
Since Marshall is obviously impressed by Epiphany’s singing voice and wants to keep performing with her, he may insist it’s never too late to pursue the life you want.
Marshall may admit he’s got some regrets of his own, but he’s also trying to make things right and look to the future.
Over with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), he’ll run into Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) at the boxing gym.
Drew knows Carly and Sonny are having problems thanks to his latest chat with Carly, so he may quiz Michael about how things are going on Sonny’s end.
Michael will argue that this fight’s not going to end anytime soon and may worry Sonny won’t give Carly the time and space she’s asked for.
Sonny doesn’t like waiting around – though he admitted he’s willing to do it for Carly.
Of course, Sonny has also gone off his meds and that’s already taking a toll on his behavior.
It’s clear that Sonny is on edge and more prone to outbursts, so his impatience could become a bigger problem as this story moves along.
As for Brick (Stephen A. Smith), he’ll feel like he’s walked into the middle of something.
However, Sonny may not want to rehash any Carly drama and might instead want the distraction of Brick’s big news.
Brick will admit he’s uncovered a new threat, so that’ll bring a mystery to uncover.
This could be linked to Marshall and his own mob ties, but we’ll just have to see how it all plays out.
Next, Britt will head to Crimson and ask Nina for help. Britt is worried about Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) tight grip on Brad Cooper (Parry Shen), so she’ll want Nina to speak to Sonny about making Selina back off.
Nina will feel like the last thing she needs to be doing is calling in special favors.
Nina won’t think she has any real sway anyway and won’t want to add to this perception that she’s latched onto Sonny like a homewrecker.
Britt will wonder if Nina’s so sure there’s a home left to wreck!
After a phone call to the Corinthos home, Britt will offer updates on Carly moving out. That’ll leave Nina dreading yet another confrontation with Carly and even more backlash.
Finally, Carly will meet with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), who’ll wonder if this is the step Carly wants to take.
It’s possible Carly will look into getting a restraining order against Nina as a way to prove a point. Then again, there may be some lawsuit or other legal action that Carly hopes to do damage with.
Whatever the case, General Hospital spoilers say Carly will keep a vow she made and that could spell more trouble for Nina!
