General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, January 24 Recap – Jennifer Spies On Sonny for Mystery Boss – Maxie’s Sonogram Stuns Victor

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, January 24, teases that Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier) gathered Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) intel for a mystery boss while Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) sonogram stunned Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Let’s talk about how Monday’s GH action went down.

At the Metro Court, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) told Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) about all their plans, including their vow renewal and making Ned’s adoption of Leo official.

Leo insisted Ned wasn’t his real father, so Ned acknowledged Julian Jerome (William deVry) as Leo’s bio dad and said he’d like to be the father that raised him. That was fine with Leo, who also seemed interested in taking the Quartermaine name.

Nearby, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) pumped Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) for info on Maxie and what was going on between them.

That led to a conversation where Britt admitted she was supposed to deliver Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt).

Britt told Austin that the plan was to fake Louise’s death and suggested Maxie already had someone lined up to protect the baby from Peter August (Wes Ramsey).

Austin was intrigued, but Ned interrupted to thank the doc for all his help with Leo.

Ned also admitted the family hadn’t done right by Austin and wanted to rectify that.

Ned invited Austin to the upcoming vow renewal gathering, but Austin was rather aloof and said he had other plans.

After Ned walked away, Britt thought maybe there was a reason why Leo’s case was so personal to Austin.

As for Olivia, she shared a sweet moment with Leo as she talked about overcoming her fears to see every beautiful side of him.

Meanwhile, Maxie showed up at Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) new place.

Maxie demanded to see Louise, but Brook Lynn didn’t think that was such a good idea since the baby’s sleep schedule had been off due to the move.

Maxie warned Brook Lynn not to tell her what her daughter needed and went in the nursery anyway.

Maxie struggled to calm Louise down, but Brook Lynn called her “Bailey” and was able to soothe her crying.

Maxie then opened up to Chase about how long she’d been away from her daughter – long enough for Louise to respond to the name “Bailey” and respond to Brook Lynn instead of her own mother.

Chase gave Maxie a pep talk about this all being over soon, but Maxie was upset over missing so many milestones.

Maxie showed Chase the sonogram she still carried around for Louise in her purse. Despite Maxie’s sadness, she felt that Chase and Brook Lynn made a great team.

Once Maxie left, Chase agreed with Maxie’s praise of their teamwork. Brook Lynn thought it seemed like she was more of a burden to Chase, so he wondered where all this was coming from.

Unfortunately, Brook Lynn acted like it was nothing and refused to discuss it any further.

At Charlie’s Pub, Victor suggested he knew Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) had ulterior motives for spending time with him.

Victor didn’t care since he just wanted a chance to get to know his son.

Talk turned to Victor’s ominous hints about the future, which he still wouldn’t elaborate on.

Valentin thought there was nothing left to say, so he offered to pay the bill and pulled out the folded-up sonogram Brook Lynn gave him for “Bailey.”

Valentin couldn’t get rid of it, but he also couldn’t seem to heal as long as he had it.

Victor offered to hold onto it for Valentin – and viewers could see that the patient ID number was on the back.

After Valentin left, Victor grabbed his coat and prepared to take off as well. He wound up colliding with Maxie, who dropped Louise’s sonogram out of her purse – giving Victor a clear view of it.

On The Haunted Star, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) met Jennifer and got updates on her brief marriage to Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) before it was annulled.

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) demanded to know why Jennifer was there and what she wanted.

Jennifer admitted she came back to do more than just pay her respects. She had another motive and ultimately apologized for treating Laura so horribly in the past.

Jennifer acted like her Luke obsession was really about her own sense of entitlement, so she claimed to be sorry for the pain she caused.

On the deck, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) insisted she couldn’t watch Sonny nurse a broken heart for someone else.

They rehashed their Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) issues and how Carly still needed time apart, but Sonny vowed to prove his love for Carly and ran off in a hurry.

Moments later, Sonny ran into Jennifer inside. Jennifer greeted Sonny and thought her father, Frank Smith, would be so proud.

Jennifer mentioned how Sonny used to work for Frank and how now the five families were down to two.

Sonny insisted that Frank was dead and wasn’t interested in anything Jennifer had to say.

Sonny wanted Jennifer out of town ASAP since he didn’t need anything else to distract him from Carly and his family.

Laura seemed concerned since Sonny was acting so out of sorts, but he insisted he was fine and left.

As for Jennifer, she confessed to Laura that she also came back looking for closure.

Jennifer asked how Laura was able to find the catharsis she needed to reclaim her life after Luke, but Laura acted like life didn’t always work out so neat and tidy.

Laura advised against seeking closure and pushed Jennifer to just look forward.

Next, Jennifer got in a car and phoned someone with news. Although Jennifer didn’t get the closure she wanted, she was able to find out what her boss wanted to know.

Jennifer said Sonny had no plans to expand on the west coast, so that gave this mystery person plenty of time to grow strong and make a move.

Back with Carly, she found Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) waiting for her in her Metro Court suite.

Joss encouraged Carly to open up about how she was feeling, so Carly admitted to waiting for the real Sonny to come back – the Sonny who would be furious and want Nina to suffer like they suffered.

Josslyn didn’t think Carly should stay with Sonny if it made her unhappy.

Carly suggested the future depended on Sonny and whether he could give her the space she needed.

At The Savoy, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) had drinks with Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) and tried to find some common ground with him.

Suddenly, Sonny showed up and announced that he wanted Curtis’ nightclub.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny’s behavior will become increasingly erratic, so stay tuned!
