General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, July 18 Recap – Sonny Banned from New Grandbaby’s Life – Nina Overhears Willow Pregnant

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, July 18, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was banned from his new grandbaby’s life while Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) overheard that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is pregnant.

Just before court, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) arrived to admit his attempt to clear Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) name hadn’t panned out yet.

Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) was still grateful and offered support to Trina along with Marcus Taggert (temporarily played by Asante Jones).

After Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) gave Trina the necklace she’d retrieved from Wyndemere for her, Trina shared a group hug with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton).

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was glad to see the friends sticking by one another and made it clear that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) would regret her actions.

Once court was in session, the ADA went after Trina hard in her opening statement and tried to trip Cameron up on the stand.

Cam had to testify about briefly dating Trina as the ADA made it seem like Trina was jealous and vengeful at the cabin that night.

Cameron also admitted Trina was the only other person there since Esme and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) went home early.

After Josslyn took the stand, she had to testify about Trina’s drinking.

However, Joss kept trying to defend Trina and wouldn’t stick solely to the questions asked, so she was treated as a hostile witness.

Josslyn eventually recalled calling Esme out before she left with Spencer.

Although Joss talked to Trina through the door, she had to admit she stepped outside with Cam at one point – meaning she couldn’t have known what Trina was doing then.

At Wyndemere, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) claimed to have found Esme’s birth mother using Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) old WSB connections.

After noting that there was no information on Esme’s father, Spencer worked to sell the bogus story of her bio mom who now lived in Portugal.

Esme seemed intrigued yet suspicious, so Spencer offered up the fake DNA results as proof.

After Esme marveled over Spencer doing all this for her, he admitted his ulterior motive.

Spencer argued that the only way Esme would get what she wanted was if he got what he wanted – and that was Trina’s freedom.

In the steam room, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) tried to calm a pacing Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), who was concerned over Sasha’s lies and the fact that she was refusing help.

Meanwhile, Sonny sparred with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) in the boxing ring before offering updates on his fight with Nina and the latest Metro Court mess.

Once Michael Corinthos (temporarily played by Robert Adamson) arrived, he told Sonny that Willow was pregnant and insisted that Sonny would play no role in the child’s life.

Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) stepped in front of Michael, so a physical fight nearly broke out between them before Brando intervened.

Since Sonny wanted Dex to back off, Brando made it clear that Dex had better follow that order or he’d be dealt with.

In a moment alone with Michael, Dante considered the possibility that his brother wanted to run into Sonny.

Michael brushed off the idea and got some congratulatory words from Dante regarding the baby.

Although Brando offered to speak with Michael, Sonny felt that it was time for action and knew Brando had other things to focus on right now.

Next, Nina visited Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) grave before Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) annoyed her with a call about a last-minute staff meeting.

Before Nina could take off, she ran into Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) in the cemetery and filled her in on the half Metro Court purchase drama.

As for Willow, she visited Jonah Corinthos’ grave and thought he would’ve made a good big brother.

Once Nina and Obrecht appeared, they overheard some of Willow’s comments and got confirmation that she was pregnant.

Nevertheless, Willow made it clear that it wasn’t Nina’s business and left following an urgent phone call.

Nina ranted to Liesl about Carly always winning and felt that Carly was down but never out.

At GH, Willow met up with TJ after assuming this was a work-related emergency.

TJ quickly pulled Willow into an exam room and reminded her of all the recent tests they’d run.

Willow recalled those tests leading to her pregnancy news, but TJ wanted to discuss the rest of her results.

General Hospital spoilers say TJ already has a hunch about what’s wrong with Willow, so stay tuned for more medical mayhem.
