General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the Morgan Corinthos (last played by Bryan Craig) return door is open, especially since grieving Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will soon need his son back more than ever.
On the September 14 episode, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) offered up a Morgan reminder during his conversation with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West).
Nik threw the time Ava swapped Morgan’s bipolar meds for placebos in her face.
Of course, Morgan mentions like this always keep him in fans’ minds.
It’s clear that Morgan hasn’t been forgotten by the show or the people of Port Charles, so they’re leaving the door open for him to return from the dead.
Whether Bryan Craig reprises the role or is perhaps replaced by a recast, there’d be value in bringing back the character of Morgan Corinthos.
Nikolas mentioned the med swap, which is something Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will always hold a grudge over.
Sonny has made some progress in his relationship with Ava, but their Morgan issues are always going to be a lingering factor.
If Morgan came back, the show could even play around with the possibility of changing Avery Corinthos’ (Ava and Grace Scarola) paternity in a big twist.
Morgan’s return could also set the stage for a “CarSon” reunion since Sonny and Carly would inevitably bond over the return of their son.
Sonny has experienced more than enough loss in recent years.
It was hard for Sonny to grieve for Mike Corbin (Max Gail), but then he faced the crushing blow of losing Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
Now Sonny will have to deal with the loss of Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), too.
It’d be nice if GH writers would break this cycle of loss for Sonny by revealing that Morgan miraculously survived.
Morgan’s presumed car explosion death could be undone and offer a new story where he rejoins the Corinthos clan after all this time.
Considering the way Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) has been acting in his feud with
Sonny, it’d be interesting if Morgan came back and stood against his brother.
There’d be the potential for an excellent sibling rivalry and some exciting drama.
