General Hospital Spoilers: Nina’s Ominous Knife – Who’s Getting Stabbed & Why?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) ominous knife has everyone wondering who’s getting stabbed and why. Let’s talk about Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) latest gift for Nina and what it could mean for the storyline moving forward.

Following Nina’s recent success, Liesl offered a Japanese tanto on the August 8 episode.

Nina opened the box containing this sheathed dagger and commented on Aunt Liesl saying congratulations with samurai steel.

After a conversation about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his lingering ties to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), Liesl hinted that her gift should never be too far away from Nina.

That led to Nina turning her attention back to the knife once Liesl left.

We should acknowledge that this is a strange present – one that feels rather ominous.

This tanto will surely become a crucial part of the story somewhere down the line.

With that in mind, we have to consider exactly how GH writers will include it.

One option might be for this particular knife to become a murder weapon or at least attempted murder weapon.

It might even be a situation where Nina is wrongfully accused because her dagger was used.

The victim could be anyone if Nina’s tanto just ends up being convenient.

Of course, another option would be if Nina comes unhinged, which could certainly happen considering her mental health history.

It’s not farfetched to think that Nina might snap, especially after she learns Carly has been keeping Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) biological connection to her a secret.

Carly hid the truth about Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) and now she’s hiding the truth about Willow, too.

That could be enough to send Nina over the edge and cause her to pull a knife on Carly in a moment of rage.

Whether Nina actually stabs Carly with it or not, she could use the tanto to threaten her.

One more option might be if Carly or someone else uses that dagger on Nina instead.

Carly always hates when Nina plays the victim, but Nina could become someone’s actual victim and find herself lying in a hospital bed following a stabbing.

If Nina finds herself near death, that could pull Sonny even closer to her.

It might also make Willow fear she’s going to lose her bio mom if the truth comes out by then.

There are several ways this tanto could be used in the story, but Liesl surely gave it to Nina for a reason.

Someone could easily get stabbed with this troubling gift, so we should probably be prepared for a bloody outcome!
