General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) could get busted over genetic testing for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), so her inherited mental illness concerns could bring Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) questions.
GH fans know Curtis talked to Portia about Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) schizophrenia and the possibility that mental illness could be passed down.
Portia pointed out that Curtis could speak to a specialist for genetic testing and counseling, but Curtis decided to give Marshall a heads-up and get his approval first.
There have been more than enough secrets between this father and son, so it’s easy to see why Curtis prefers to take a totally transparent approach at this point.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Portia since she secretly called that genetic specialist herself – though she no doubt has someone besides Curtis on her mind.
Portia is lying about Trina’s paternity, so all signs point to Curtis being her bio dad.
That’s especially true since Portia seems so nervous about this schizophrenia news and is now looking into this genetic angle.
Portia obviously wants to make sure Trina isn’t at risk through her biological grandfather, so she’s digging into this without Curtis’ knowledge.
However, this could turn out to be a pivotal story development that puts Curtis on the path to the truth.
Will Curtis find out that Portia reached out to the genetic specialist anyway and wonder why she was doing it behind his back?
Could Curtis overhear something or see some results that point to Portia’s fears about Trina?
Portia may be able to cover her blunder, but this could still serve as a clue that Curtis comes back to later.
Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) has suspicions of her own when it comes to Trina’s paternity thanks to what she overheard while trapped with Portia, so those could be a big factor, too.
Of course, there’s also a chance that Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) will catch on first and keep quiet to avoid upsetting Trina, who’s dealing with enough as it is.
It’ll be a crushing blow for Taggert to learn Trina isn’t his true daughter, so he may want to spare Trina that same sort of pain.
Whatever the case, GH writers are taking the genetic testing and counseling route for a reason.
It has to tie in with the Trina paternity reveal, so viewers will be eager to see how it all plays out.
