General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will face a mysterious new threat, so Brick (Stephen A. Smith) will sound the alarm over the next big baddie.
GH fans know Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) has supposedly found religion behind bars, so he’s promoting a peaceful existence. Cyrus doesn’t really have the resources he used to have anyway, so his threat has become a thing of the past.
That paves the way for another threat to overtake Cyrus and become Sonny’s next concern.
Of course, all roads seem to lead to Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) these days.
Victor clearly has a far-reaching plan that’s quite elaborate, so Sonny could become a target for some reason.
Although Victor hasn’t spelled out all the details of what he’s up to, he’s made it clear that something huge is brewing and is carrying out multiple phases of an intricate scheme.
Sonny may fit somewhere in all that, so that would explain Brick’s clue if that’s the case.
However, it’s also possible another villainous force will step up. That could involve a completely new character or perhaps set the stage for an existing one to betray Sonny.
We wouldn’t be surprised at all if Selina Wu (Lydia Look) wound up turning the Wu organization against Sonny, especially since we’ve got this tricky Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) situation and the potential for more drama.
There’s even a chance this could connect to Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) and his apparent mob ties.
The point is Sonny may have to prepare for battle – and the timing isn’t great since Sonny has a lot of personal stuff on his mind.
That could give any new enemy the upper hand since Sonny will deal with distractions along the way.
Regardless, Sonny will get updates from Brick during the week of January 17-21, so that’ll lead to questions about this mysterious threat and what it means for the Corinthos clan.
