General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) could face another near-death experience. Will Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) takedown go horribly wrong?
In the June 6 episode, Michael admitted Sonny wasn’t dead to him yet.
In a conversation with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), Michael talked about wanting to crush Sonny first – and he wanted Sonny to know he was behind it.
After that, Michael insisted that Sonny could get around to dying.
Drew grew increasingly concerned about Michael doing something he might regret, but Michael assured Drew that he wouldn’t regret what was ahead.
Of course, all of that seems awfully ominous.
Michael obviously meant a figurative death for Sonny, but this could be foreshadowing another near-death experience instead.
It was almost creepy to have Michael make that “get around to dying” comment. The fact that Michael’s so certain he won’t regret this is also troubling.
GH writers may be setting the stage for Michael to do something that puts Sonny’s life in jeopardy – something Michael will indeed regret down the road.
We can understand Michael’s anger toward Sonny, who’s standing by Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) despite all her transgressions.
That includes keeping Sonny’s survival a secret in Nixon Falls.
However, Michael really needs to take himself back to the devastation he felt when he thought Sonny was gone for good.
What happens if Michael puts his family in a situation where they might feel that grief once again?
Sonny is a key mob player, so anything Michael does that affects Sonny’s business will mean playing a dangerous game.
Michael could easily put Sonny’s life on the line again and regret it just like Drew feared.
It’d be better if Michael would just suck it up and appreciate Sonny being alive.
Even if Michael doesn’t agree with Sonny’s choices, there’s no need for him to be such a brat and actively try to destroy his father.
Of course, there wouldn’t be much drama in that, so Michael will have to learn his lesson the hard way!
There’s a good chance Michael will set off a terrible chain reaction and spark another near-death experience for Sonny, so we’ll pass along updates as other GH news comes in.
