General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, August 11 Recap – Spencer’s Pentonville Sentence – Austin’s Mysterious Emergency

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 11, reveals that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) got a three-month Pentonville sentence after rejecting a deal – and Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) mysterious emergency left Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) concerned.

At the Metro Court Gardens, Maxie apologized for running late and sat down at a table with Austin. After Maxie talked about Damian Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) day of pampering and crush on Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), Austin was surprised.

Although Austin clearly thought Spinelli was crushing on Maxie instead, she insisted Austin was the only man she was interested in romantically. Talk turned to their weekend plans with the kids, so Austin offered up a pamphlet for some family fun time.

Maxie questioned whether Austin was ready for a family before he stepped away to take a phone call. When Austin returned, he offered a vague explanation about an incident at the property he owned in Pautuck.

Maxie wondered if Austin was canceling their weekend with the kids, but Austin hoped to be back before then and talked her out of coming along on the trip. Even so, Maxie was suspicious of what Austin was hiding.

At Charlie’s Pub, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) filled Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) in on Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) blackmail scheme. Although Martin wanted Lucy to leave town with him for a while, she had to stay and deal with Deception drama.

Once Lucy joined Maxie, they commiserated over their men leaving town. Lucy noted that Martin had been forthcoming about his own situation, but Maxie was still concerned over Austin’s caginess and whether the whole family thing scared him off.

At GH, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) assigned Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) as the officer guarding Oz Haggerty’s (Max Faugno) room. That presented a problem since Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) needed to administer the drug dose to wake Oz up.

Jordan was suspicious when Portia offered to get hospital security to do the guarding, but Portia managed to cover. The commissioner also admitted Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) had apparently skipped town, so it’d be difficult to take her down – even if Oz woke up and ratted her out.

In a private moment, Portia told Curtis that she could get by Rory as a doctor and had to do this on her own. Even if Portia got caught and lost her career, she thought it’d be worth it if it helped Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali).

Austin stopped by seeking updates on the police presence and sensed that Portia was on edge along with Curtis. After they blamed it on the trial, Austin took off – leaving Curtis to wonder if this was the right time to carry out the plan. Oz’s guarded room was drawing too much attention.

Unfortunately, Portia got a call from Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), who had the inside track at the courthouse. The jury was close to reaching a verdict, so Portia knew she needed to help Trina NOW.

Next, Austin got on the phone with Mason (Nathanyael Grey) and urged him to stop the harassment. After Austin insisted they all won, he said to tell “her” that he was on his way.

At the PCPD, Sonny was proud of Spencer, who refused to squeal on the people who helped him escape. Spencer also wanted Sonny to use his resources to find Esme, but Sonny hinted about already having a plan to help Trina in the works.

At the Metro Court pool, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) emerged from the water and caught Trina’s eye. Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) ogled Dex as well before Trina realized they knew each other.

Dex told Josslyn he hoped they could put what happened behind them, so Trina wondered what exactly happened. Josslyn admitted Dex worked for Sonny, but she wouldn’t divulge much more than that.

After Dex made a phone call, Sonny showed up to handle Josslyn in person. Once Sonny extended his support to Trina, he cornered Josslyn alone and hoped she wouldn’t make trouble for Trina by exposing the jury tampering.

Although Josslyn would never forgive Sonny for how he treated Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), she was grateful that he was helping Trina.

Once Diane left Trina a message about the jury nearing a verdict, she hugged Josslyn nervously and admitted she thought she had more time.

Nearby Sonny reconvened with his newest hire and suggested they were about to find out if Dex’s powers of persuasion worked.

Back at the police station, Martin met with Spencer in the interrogation room. Spencer was offered a 10-day sentence at Spring Ridge if he’d rat out his accomplice – and Martin knew it had to be Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

Spencer refused to sell Victor out, so he was facing three months at Pentonville instead. Martin was frustrated with his client, but Spencer signed the papers and was set to begin his sentence in two weeks.

At the hospital again, Jordan acknowledged that Rory had become quite familiar with Trina and those closest to her. Although Jordan handpicked Rory for this assignment because she trusted him, she needed to know his feelings for Trina wouldn’t be a problem.
