General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, July 7 Recap – Charlotte Held Hostage as Victor's Bargaining Chip – New Woman Hits on Chase

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 7, reveals that Charlotte Cassadine (Amelia McLain) was held hostage as Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) bargaining chip while a new woman hit on Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

In the park, Victor gave Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) a new Cassadine ring to replace his old one and heard about Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) plan to deport him.

Valentin pointed out that compliance had been the only option before, but there was nothing else he could do for Victor.

After Victor hinted that Charlotte would be very disappointed, Valentin snapped over his daughter essentially being held hostage without realizing it.

Valentin was permitted to text and talk to Charlotte over the phone, but he couldn’t see her since Victor put her in boarding school and controlled access.

However, Valentin warned that he’d cut Victor’s throat if he threatened Charlotte again.

Victor said that was spoken like a true Cassadine and assured Valentin that his granddaughter’s life was precious to him.

Valentin didn’t buy that since Victor was treating Charlotte like a bargaining chip.

Victor was counting on Valentin to spoil Mayor Collins’ plans and make sure Laura left office one way or another.

Valentin wasn’t happy as Victor urged him to do exactly as he was told.

At the Metro Court Gardens, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) talked to Laura about how she conquered the latest recall situation.

Laura also hinted about how she intended to deal with a dangerous threat to Port Charles.

Once Alexis stepped away, Laura quizzed Anna about her relationship with Valentin. Anna admitted Valentin had been different since he came back from the clinic, but she felt comfortable with him.

Laura warned that love could be intoxicating and didn’t want it to rob Anna of her better sense.

Although Laura wasn’t trying to tell Anna how to live her life, she suggested Anna should trust but verify.

Later, Victor overheard Anna on the phone with the clinic that Valentin had supposedly recovered at.

As Anna sought answers about Valentin’s time there, Victor grew concerned.

Valentin also tracked down Laura and raised her suspicions since he wanted to speak with her.

As Chase emerged from the pool, a woman who was clearly interested in him offered a towel.

Chase said he already had one, so the woman assumed Chase was spoken for – though she reminded him that a fresh towel was available.

Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) realized a new woman had been hitting on Chase, who claimed his relationship with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) was a nonstarter.

Chase explained how Brook Lynn tried to turn him into a pop star and make herself his manager.

Although Chase complained about how Brook Lynn handled everything, Gregory and Finn acted like it wasn’t such a bad idea.

In a moment alone with Finn, Chase got updates on Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and urged his brother to turn things around with her.

Finn realized what he needed to do and headed for Shadybrook.

Meanwhile, Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) took Jake Webber (Hudson West) to visit Liz, who got upset over her parents reaching out to him.

Jake promised that he hadn’t responded to the email and wanted Liz to come home, but she wasn’t ready for that step yet.

After Kevin sent Jake to the car, he pushed Liz to open up about her parents being such a trigger for her.

Liz wound up hurling her puzzle at Kevin and apologizing, but he’d been waiting for her to dig deep like that.

Kevin wondered if Liz felt alone and abandoned. It seemed to Kevin that Liz hadn’t left that pain behind, but only Liz could provide answers about what she buried.

If Kevin wanted to help, Liz said she knew how. When Finn arrived looking for Liz, he was surprised when Kevin admitted she was gone.

Back with Alexis, she wondered why Gregory hadn’t taken her up on the challenge of writing an op-ed, but then she got a text from her op-ed editor showing that he had.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn filled Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) in on her fight with Chase and realized she should’ve included him in the decision-making process.

Ned showed Brook Lynn a video that Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda) had shared on social media – the one of Chase singing Brook Lynn’s song at Leo’s birthday party.

After Ned used that to prove teamwork was needed to make a hit, Brook Lynn knew she had to go make things right with Chase.

Right as Chase called hoping they could talk, Brook Lynn arrived at the pool and suggested there was no time like the present.
