General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 9, reveals that Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) gave Zelda Telesco (Kristin Carey) cash in a secret meeting while Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) mulled over some strange clues. Here’s how all the GH drama played out.
At the Metro Court, Sam gave Carly updates on her Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) takedown efforts. Although Sam wouldn’t share her source, she admitted Esme once had a nanny named Maggie Fitzgerald who might prove helpful.
After a brief encounter with Spinelli, Sam and Carly worried about him trying to be someone else with his expensive new clothes and off behavior. Spinelli met with some guy and began shaking a piece of paper at him, so Carly thought the exchange looked volatile.
When confronted, Spinelli claimed he was in therapy and that there was some billing issue. Although Spinelli acted like he sorted it out with a collector, Carly and Sam were understandably skeptical of that story.
At the Metro Court pool, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) encouraged Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to sue the corporations behind her pain, including Society Setups since they hired him.
Cody mentioned Zelda Telesco being the matchmaker behind the service and pointed out that he shared concerns about the stunt beforehand. If Britt made Cody her star witness, then he’d have to tell the truth about that under oath.
Britt realized Cody was just trying to get a percentage of her winnings and ended up hurling him into the pool.
Soon after, Zelda showed up to smooth things over with Britt by offering her the next six months free at Society Setups – and she vowed to make Britt a priority so that she wouldn’t waste any more time alone.
Cody also received his check from Zelda and cursed since they shorted him $500 for amenities despite previously promising it. That irritated Cody since he needed a massage after his stunt and naturally had wine to go with it.
Back with Zelda, she met with Spinelli in private and assured him that the Britt situation was handled. Spinelli handed over some cash and was grateful since he didn’t want anyone to know what he was up to.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) flashed back to his hookup with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), but he covered up the real reason he seemed pensive.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) was happy about getting their marriage back on track, but her romantic moment with Nikolas was interrupted once Esme and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) walked in.
Esme chirped about love being all around before Ava killed the mood by altering the terms of her deal. Now that Esme was staying at Wyndemere, Ava expected her to behave along with Spencer – or else the trust fund purse strings would tighten back up.
Esme lost her cool and wondered why Ava got to decide what constituted good or bad behavior. Ava replied that it was because she controlled the money, but Nikolas tried to settle her down along with Esme.
Spencer piped up that he loved his father, so he would agree to Ava’s eleventh-hour change. Esme insisted she only wanted what was best for “Spence” and Mr. Cassadine before stepping out of the room.
Nikolas followed under the guise of getting ice for drinks and checked on Esme, who was sorry for letting her emotions take over in there. As for their hookup, Nikolas acted like it was about seeking comfort and didn’t have to mean anything more than that.
Esme seemed a little disappointed that Nikolas thought of it that way, but she assured him that she didn’t want to complicate his life. Nikolas mentioned going out if Esme needed him to pick up anything from the pharmacy, but she supposedly had it all taken care of.
Although Esme claimed she was willing to keep quiet, she also wanted Nikolas to know she’d support him if he changed his mind and wanted to confess to Ava.
Meanwhile, Spencer pushed Ava to let him out of his restitution and didn’t think Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) wanted him around since she was always hanging around Officer Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse).
It clicked for Ava that Spencer’s heart wasn’t in this attempt to work things out with Esme. Ava realized Spencer was far more concerned with his feelings for Trina, which were only growing.
At the gallery, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) tried to make plans to study abroad with Trina, but she couldn’t think about the future when she might get kicked out of school and land in a prison cell.
Joss vowed to be there for Trina along with Rory, but she wasn’t sure they could count on Cameron Webber (William Lipton) considering how weird and secretive he’d been acting.
Although Cam shut down the idea of breaking up Esme and Spencer, Josslyn felt she could work on the plan with Trina. Since Esme might hightail it out of town without anything left to lose, Trina wasn’t keen on the breakup idea either.
Instead, Trina wanted to focus on taking Esme down – and she thought they needed to think outside the box to score evidence. After Trina’s phone chimed, she realized there was an email in her inbox containing the Title IX decision.
At home, Brando Corbin (Brad Schmidt) questioned the chaotic scene following Gladys Corbin’s (Bonnie Burroughs) bottle snatching and the pills Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) spilled as a result.
Sasha explained that they were just aspirin and acted like Gladys overreacted. There was talk about the shoes that arrived for Liam Corbin and everything Sasha had been up against.
Brando still thought it was odd that Gladys moved in and determined that Sasha must be back on drugs. After Brando started talking about rehab programs and ways to help Sasha, she shut him down and insisted she wasn’t using again.
Sasha managed to convince Brando that he was her drug of choice now and assured him that she wanted to move forward with their wedding reception party. Since Gladys kept quiet about Sasha’s recent relapse details, Sasha was grateful to her.
