General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, May 26 Recap – Scott Blindsides Michael with Violent Past – Cameron Shuts Josslyn Down

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 26, reveals that Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) blindsided Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) with his violent past – and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) plotted Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) breakup until Cameron Webber (William Lipton) objected.

In the courtroom, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) testified about Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) finding him after he’d already been in Nixon Falls for a few months. Although Nina kept him from his family, Sonny took some of the blame since he’d stopped trying to find out where he came from.

Sonny talked about forgiving Nina for what she did – and when pressed by Scott, he admitted he thought Nina should be part of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Viron Weaver) life.

Once it was Diane Miller’s (Carolyn Hennesy), she focused on Sonny’s grieving family and how they hadn’t gotten past Nina’s actions like him. Sonny was forced to answer questions about Avery Corinthos’ (Ava and Grace Scarola) kidnapping as a baby, but he defended Nina since she was unwell back then.

Diane wrapped up by questioning Sonny’s judgement, especially since he’d suffered a traumatic head injury that could affect things. Scott fought back hard by putting Michael on the stand next and asking him what happened with Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Brown).

At GH, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) pressured Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to give him info regarding Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and reminded her that he was a generous hospital donor. Britt ranted about Nikolas being almost as entitled as Spencer.

That led to Britt admitting that Spencer said nasty things when he sought a favor and she didn’t respond how he wanted. Britt felt Nikolas was behaving the same way, but Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) intervened before the tension got out of hand.

Although Terry couldn’t give out confidential medical details, she spoke as Elizabeth’s friend and suggested Liz could fill Nikolas in herself soon. Nikolas was satisfied and went on his way, but Terry could tell more was going on with Britt.

Britt wound up spilling her disappointment in Spencer, who wasn’t wrong about her sad and lonely life. After Britt mentioned a Society Setups event, Terry agreed to go as her wingwoman since she was already seeing someone. Britt wanted the scoop, but Terry let her know it was complicated.

After Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken) made a phone call to ensure things would go according to plan, she encountered a conflicted Chet Driscoll (Chris Van Etten).

Chet admitted he’d gotten his dream job as a director for a mental health outreach program at the veteran’s hospital. It was strange to Chet since he didn’t believe he was qualified and hadn’t submitted the application.

Although Amy was obviously behind this, she made up other excuses for how this could’ve happened and thought the main thing was Chet got the job. Chet was supposed to start in a few days, but he was bummed since the job was in Chicago and he was seeing someone in Port Charles.

Amy played dumb and asked who the lucky lady was, so he confessed it was Terry and talked about how things had clicked with her. That said, they’d only been on a few dates at this point, so Chet knew he had to go fill Terry in on the situation.

While Chet prepared to break the news in Terry’s office, Amy expressed her gratitude to the recruiter she’d worked with over the phone. Britt also mentioned to Amy how hard it was to find someone special, so Amy looked guilty.

At Wyndemere, Spencer turned down Esme’s picnic plan since they had to spend the afternoon packing. Esme got updates on Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) willingness to pay $10,000 a week from Spencer’s trust fund if he’d move out with Esme.

Esme wondered if that meant Spencer was ready to share a bed, but he was thinking about two bedrooms. After Spencer suggested they’d have enough money to live in style, Esme plastered on a phony smile and pretended it sounded perfect.

Once Nikolas came home with info about Liz’s hospitalization, Spencer took off to check on Cameron. Esme opted to stay since her presence might cause more distress.

That gave Esme a chance to spill the move-out details to a surprised Nikolas. Esme did a little gloating once she was alone and declared that it wouldn’t be long now.

Outside Kelly’s, Josslyn realized Cam was upset, so she embraced him and heard the story of Liz’s meds making her sleepwalk. Joss wondered why Liz was specifically tormenting herself in those ways, but Cam didn’t have answers on that mystery.

After Spencer showed up to extend his support to Cam, he headed for the gallery. Josslyn remained upset over Spencer’s treatment of Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and had the solution for how to take down Esme.

When Joss suggested breaking Spencer and Esme up, Cameron realized it’d put Spencer’s plan in jeopardy. Once Cam shut down Josslyn’s suggestion and argued it would backfire, he made it clear that he didn’t want to discuss Esme.

At the gallery, Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) arrived while off-duty to see how Trina was doing. Trina teased Rory about sneaking up on her before they addressed her university’s investigation and how Rory didn’t go to college.

Rory talked about trying to find something that spoke to him and ultimately finding that at the PCPD. Although Rory was still new, he wanted to right some wrongs – starting with the wrong that had been done to Trina.

Rory tried to convince Trina to visit the planetarium or Metro Court pool with him, but she didn’t want him getting in trouble. That led to Rory explaining how it wasn’t really an issue since he wasn’t the one who arrested Trina, but she was still nervous about it.

Rory decided to take in some artwork while he was at the gallery, so he shared some warm moments with Trina. Spencer didn’t look pleased at all when he arrived to see Rory and Trina bonding.

At the Metro Court bar, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) talked to Ava about what he’d missed since he’d been out of town – including Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier) going down for Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) murder.

There was also talk about the vow renewal that never happened as well as Ava’s gloomy outlook on her relationship. Victor suggested Nikolas was a fool if he couldn’t appreciate a woman like Ava and wound up sharing a toast with her right as Nik showed up.
