General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Tuesday, August 9, tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will try to figure out their new normal while Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) pushes for her divorce. Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will also have a life-changing meeting, so here’s what viewers can expect.
For starters, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) will continue his efforts to woo Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), so he’ll insist strong women don’t bother him.
Cody will want Britt to know that he’s not intimidated and can handle whatever she throws at him.
Meanwhile, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will open up to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about why she’s so hesitant to live together.
Dante will want to make one thing perfectly clear, so he’ll probably insist there’s no pressure at all when it comes to the pace of their relationship.
Next, Ava will tell Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) that she’s giving him exactly what he wants – or at least what he previously wanted.
It looks like Ava will be ready to file some signed divorce papers, but Nikolas may remind her of what’s at stake.
If people start asking too many questions about the demise of Nikolas and Ava’s marriage, then it could lead to questions about Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) as well.
Nikolas will no doubt try to convince Ava to hold off on the divorce if he can.
As for Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), he’ll grill Ava about this whole divorce situation and wonder what he’s missing.
Scott will get the feeling that Ava’s leaving out a huge chunk of the story, so he’ll pump her for information.
Later, Cody will react to someone familiar. We’ll see Cody have a moment of instant recognition – and it looks like Scott will be the face he knows.
Scott’s con artist former flame was named Katherine Bell (Mary Beth Evans), so she may be at the center of this Cody connection.
Over with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), she’ll quiz Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Felicia will ask if Anna’s going to find out what Valentin is up to, so Anna will admit she indeed plans on uncovering the truth.
Elsewhere, Valentin will try to convince Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) that he’s handled their Anna problem.
Although Valentin will basically pledge his loyalty, Victor just won’t be so sure he can trust his son.
Other GH spoilers say Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will discuss a “no more Mr. Nice Guy” approach and perhaps hint about a plan to deal with Valentin.
Carly will listen before she joins Drew in meeting his executive coach, Mia (Vanessa Mathison).
When Mia asks what Carly’s goals are, she’ll insist she wants to get what she lost and more.
Mia will have some helpful advice for Carly regarding her business objectives, so Carly should be grateful Drew recommended her.
At Charlie’s Pub, Nina will acknowledge that her relationship with Sonny has changed since they came back to Port Charles.
Now Sonny and Nina are facing that difficult reality, they have to find their new normal.
Although Carly’s always going to be an issue, Nina and Sonny won’t want to give up on each other.
The road to romance will remain rocky, but Sonny and Nina will think it’s worth it.
General Hospital spoilers say Nina and Sonny could change their minds as more obstacles arise, but they’ll move forward and hope for the best!
