General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Tuesday, August 9, teases that Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) surprise link will be revealed while Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) takes charge of a situation. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will also confess to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), so let’s talk about all the GH drama ahead.
First, Cody will try to keep Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) interested in their second date.
The concept of a strong, confident woman won’t bother Cody, who’ll remain eager to get to know Britt – though he obviously has ulterior motives.
Over with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), it seems she’ll want to move full-speed ahead with the divorce.
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) will do his best to talk Ava out of an official split, particularly since it could spark suspicions about why and lead to the truth about Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) coming out.
Scott will certainly have questions about Ava’s confusing divorce stance and what she really wants.
Ava may have a hard time throwing Scott off the trail as he tries to get to the bottom of things.
Later, it looks like Scott will cross paths with Cody, who’ll recognize him as a familiar face.
There’s a past connection that’ll be revealed, so it could tie in with Katherine Bell (Mary Beth Evans) since she was Scott’s shady ex and shares the same last name as Cody.
At Charlie’s Pub, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will get to the heart of their problems.
After Nina and Sonny discuss their Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) issues and how things have changed in their relationship, they’ll have to decide if they can find a way forward.
Sonny will know the road ahead won’t be easy, but having Nina in his life will be worth it to him.
Nina will feel the same, so she’ll try to figure out how to navigate this new reality with Sonny.
As for Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), she’ll grill Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and what she plans to do about his apparent secrets.
Anna will admit she intends to uncover the truth, so she’ll put a scheme in motion soon enough.
Meanwhile, Valentin will act like he’s got everything under control when it comes to Anna.
Of course, Victor will struggle to believe that and will definitely have some doubts about Valentin’s loyalty.
Other GH spoilers say Drew will take charge with a new strategy – one that apparently involves playing some hardball.
Drew will hope to strike a deal with Valentin, but it sounds like he’ll be done playing nice.
Vanessa Mathison will also reprise her role as Mia the executive coach, so she’ll come through for Drew and Carly on some business tactics.
Carly’s goal will be to get back what she’s lost and more, so Mia will coach her on how to achieve that.
Elsewhere, Sam will come clean about why she’s dragging her feet with Dante.
There are some deeper reasons for Sam’s reluctance to live together, so she’ll confide how she’s really feeling.
Dante will want Sam to understand that the pressure’s off. All Dante wants to do is take the logical next step, but he’s willing to wait if that’s what Sam needs.
What matters most to Dante is making Sam happy and keeping their romance on solid ground, but he’ll soon worry he’s rocked the boat with his suggestion.
