General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, December 20 Recap – Liz’s Miscarriage Shocks Ava – Drew Suspects Harmony Kidnapped Willow

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 20, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) told Ava Jerome (Maura West) that she was sorry, but Ava didn’t believe it and vowed to make sure she was.

Ava mocked the story of Liz and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) turning to each other in their time of need.

When Ava brought up Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) being Nikolas’ first choice, the look on Elizabeth’s face told her that Liz already knew.

Liz snapped at Ava a couple times as she faced backlash and eventually blurted out there was no baby.

Ava was led to believe Elizabeth had a miscarriage, so she acted like Nik wouldn’t be around to offer sympathy since he only cared about himself.

Once Ava left, Liz sat alone in the chapel dwelling on her mistakes and wondering if she was still a good person.

At Wyndemere, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) held himself responsible for Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) heartbreak since he brought Esme to Port Charles – and now he believed she’d killed Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse).

Nikolas argued that Spencer wasn’t at fault and brought Spencer up to speed on the divorce news. Spencer doubted that Nikolas was moving on from Ava, so Nik admitted to having an affair with Elizabeth.

After Spencer wrapped his head around his father’s shocker, he was appalled and reiterated that he was done with Nikolas. This really seemed like the last straw as Spencer trashed the Cassadine name and vowed to move out as soon as his sentence was finished.

Next, Nikolas took a call from Liz, who filled him in on her Ava run-in and the miscarriage lie she sold. Since Nikolas knew Liz was having a hard time with their scheme, he offered compassion – though he made it clear there was no turning back now.

At Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) house, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was apologetic after pulling back from Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) embrace, but he thought she should stop denying herself what she needed.

Once Josslyn looked at a text from Cameron Webber (William Lipton), Dex was sorry for causing trouble between them.

Josslyn felt like she did that on her own, but she refused to regret kissing Dex when he asked if she did. Dex said he didn’t regret it either and took off following a replacement guard’s arrival.

After Josslyn was alone, she flashed back to romantic Dex moments and screamed into a pillow since she was clearly frustrated with herself.

At GH, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) sought medical report details from TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) and discussed the hook case with Mac Scorpio (John J. York). Dante looked rough since he’d been working round-the-clock since Rory was attacked.

At the boxing gym, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) wasn’t pleased to see Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) since it meant he hadn’t left town. Cody pointed out that Dante convinced him to stay and express concern for him since the PCPD lost a cop.

Sam confessed that she hadn’t heard from Dante since last night and worried about him bottling things up. It was unusual for Dante since he was normally so open with Sam, so she knew she had a good reason to fret now.

Cody still had Mac’s number, so he gave him a call and asked about Dante. Mac brought Dante over to the boxing gym for a reunion with Sam, so Cody was pleased – though he offered to delete Mac’s number now.

However, Mac urged Cody to keep it in case he needed it and hinted about meeting up sometime, so Cody kept the number in his phone.

At Charlie’s Pub, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) wanted to know why every word out of Denise McKenzie’s (Alex Rietveld) mouth had been a lie.

Carly locked eyes with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) at the bar before turning her attention back to the Denise drama.

After Carly suggested Denise must be protecting Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel), she added that she’d make it worth Denise’s while if she came clean.

Denise pretended she backed up Harmony’s bogus story out of loyalty and said Harmony showed up on the commune with the baby already in tow.

The new story was that Joan gave her little girl to Harmony and Doug before they arrived.

Since Harmony seemed to be running from something, Denise felt it was best not to dig any further and felt Willow should keep looking forward.

Under the guise of returning forgotten gloves, Carly followed Denise outside and slipped her a bill as an extra payment.

Denise seemed to regret ever getting tangled up in this mess, but she confessed that Harmony really was on edge and constantly looking over her shoulder back then.

Since Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) worked with Harmony in New York once upon a time, Drew fished to find out if she remembered Harmony with a baby or having a pregnant friend.

Phyllis didn’t, but Carly still seemed nervous about Phyllis getting involved.

Drew ultimately spoke to Carly about the possibility that Harmony kidnapped Willow, which meant her birth mother could still be out there looking for her daughter.

After Nina talked to Phyllis about losing her chance at motherhood and never forgiving Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) for robbing her of that, she bumped into Ava.

That brought Ava’s updates on Liz’s miscarriage, so she wondered if she could really go after Nikolas considering he just lost a child.

General Hospital spoilers say Ava will have some tough decisions to make as this storyline moves ahead, so stick with ABC’s GH.
