General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 11, reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) kicked Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) out or vowed to leave home herself. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) also rejected a Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) deal, so here’s how all the GH drama played out.
In Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) hotel room, he was reluctant to come clean since it would never truly be safe. However, Marshall ultimately decided enough time had passed and came clean about the criminal matters that forced him to leave his family. He had to leave before his trouble became their trouble.
Marshall talked about how there was another player bigger than him. He lost control of the situation and almost brought all the drama to his family’s doorstep. Marshall had to leave and never look back, so he faked his death, took another name, kept a low profile and moved around a lot.
Curtis wondered if the player that Marshall mentioned was the mob, but Marshall didn’t want to get into any of the specifics. He felt it was important for Curtis to drop all the questions and avoid stirring up any danger.
At Charlie’s Pub, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) had a drink with Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner) as they reflected on Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) passing. Felicia was worried since Maxie was perhaps coping too well with her own problems, but Maxie talked about all the support she had.
Felicia was particularly interested in hearing how Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) had stepped up for Maxie. Meanwhile, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) joined Austin at The Savoy where she struck out with several men. They were supposed to be doing this whole dating thing together, but Britt noticed that Austin was sitting it out and realized he was already interested in someone.
Austin ultimately admitted it was Maxie, but he didn’t think she was really available right now. However, Britt was delighted by this juicy info. She offered hope to Austin and complimented him on his excellent taste.
After Laura Collins (Genie Francis) recovered from Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) ambush at her place, she ranted about his immunity deal and wondered what he wanted. Aside from Laura’s company, Victor suggested that would be revealed in due time – and he wasn’t going anywhere!
Victor acted like he wanted to atone for the past and rebuild his family. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) eventually joined them, but Laura refused to believe Victor’s act and couldn’t get rid of him fast enough.
At Crimson, Nina held a bag of ice on her face thanks to Carly’s slap. Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) showed up soon after to apologize for not being able to honor her promise to keep Nina’s secret – and for accusing Nina of using her.
Nina thought she should apologize for how things went down instead and pushed Willow to save her own. Willow felt she’d have to do a lot of apologizing if Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) found out what she was up to. She acknowledged that they weren’t on the same page when it came to Nina, but she had a plan she thought would help.
Willow suggested that if Nina gave up her legal claim to Wiley, it would be a gesture of goodwill from Michael’s perspective. She vowed to work on deescalating things with Michael and convincing him to let Nina be in Wiley’s life.
Since Willow couldn’t promise anything, that wasn’t good enough for Nina. She insisted she had rights in the state of New York as Wiley’s grandmother and refused to trust Michael to cooperate without them. Nina was at least glad Sonny knew she wasn’t evil incarnate, but she wasn’t about to let Michael turn Wiley against her.
When Carly came home, she was standoffish as Sonny urged her to taste the sauce he’d been making. Sonny wanted to make Carly some cheese bread and was acting like everything was relatively normal, but that obviously wasn’t working for Carly.
Sonny asked if they could sit down to talk or if they were too far gone for even that. Once he joined Carly at the kitchen table, he admitted Laura stopped by with the news of Luke’s death. Carly was crushed for Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) and wanted to reach out to her.
After Sonny continued to act like everything was normal at home, Carly snapped since she couldn’t pretend their life wasn’t falling apart. Carly recapped everything she’d just learned from Nina, including how Nina wouldn’t turn Sonny away if he came to her now.
Sonny didn’t want to focus on what almost happened in Nixon Falls and didn’t think it mattered what Nina said. Nevertheless, it clearly mattered to Carly, who reiterated that she needed time and space. She told Sonny to get out by morning or else she’d be the one to go.
