General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, November 1, teases that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) learned she caused Reiko Finn’s (Mele Ihara) fall. Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) was also revealed to be secretly spying – and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) shut down Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) once she crossed the line.
In Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) office, he took a call and admitted to Holly that he was trying to find another judge who would grant Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) bail. Holly advised against seeking a loophole and blowing things up since Anna would need Robert as the DA later.
After Holly got a bit dizzy, Robert took her out for some fresh air. That took them to the Halloween festival, where Holly caught up with Sonny and met Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
In a moment alone, Holly had updates for someone over the phone. Once Holly brought the other person up to speed on Robert making moves and trying to get another judge, she insisted she was sticking close – though she seemed torn about reporting back like this.
In lockup, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) offered support to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), who assured him that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was doing something important and would be back when he could.
Anna urged Finn to open up about his own problems, so he mentioned Elizabeth’s Monterey trip and how he heard from Cameron Webber (William Lipton) that’s where her parents lived.
Although Anna acknowledged Liz likely left Finn out of the loop, she thought maybe Liz wanted to shield Finn from any consequences and felt confident they’d work things out.
At Jeff Webber (William Moses) and Carolyn Webber’s (Denise Crosby) house, Elizabeth pushed for answers about Reiko Finn. After Jeff admitted to having an affair with Reiko, Liz mentioned her staircase memories and eventually asked if Jeff pushed her.
Jeff quickly claimed he was indeed responsible, but Carolyn insisted Liz was remembering and that the truth needed to come out. As Elizabeth looked on in shock, Jeff admitted that Liz was the one who caused Reiko’s fall.
In Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) office, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) brought Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) by to show off her costume, but he really wanted legal advice.
Drew explained the Carly situation in hypotheticals since Alexis couldn’t offer attorney-client privilege, but Alexis gave a “hell yes” on it being considered insider trading.
Drew learned both parties could go to prison, but Alexis acted like there was less chance of that happening if there was no romantic involvement. It was harder to prove conspiracy and get someone to look into it if they were just casual acquaintances.
Once Drew was gone on Tuesday’s GH episode, Alexis opened up a letter she’d received and seemed pensive.
In Switzerland, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) filled Valentin in on Anna asking her to come help him. A suspicious guard appeared, but Laura was able to convince him she was a real nun – at least temporarily.
Things went downhill after he saw the other guard on the ground and heard him groaning. Laura acted like the guy was drunk on communion wine, but the guard knew this particular man only drank vodka.
Valentin and Laura found themselves held at gunpoint, but the church bells tolled early and surprised the guard. After Valentin knocked the guy out, Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) appeared dressed as a priest and admitted he’d been behind the early bell-tolling.
While Valentin, Kevin and Laura all planned to make a break for it with Charlotte Cassadine (Amelie McLain), there was more Halloween festival fun back in Port Charles.
Sonny and Nina were there with Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) along with Donna Corinthos (Ava Rose), so Carly fumed over Nina’s presence. That led to some clarification that Nina was working the event since the Metro Court was a sponsor.
After Donna and Avery greeted Carly following her trip, Carly found out about a pajama party that happened while she was gone.
Carly complained to Sonny in private since she asked him not to let Nina spend the night while Donna was there. However, Sonny insisted Nina didn’t spend the night – that the pajama party just involved movies and pizza.
Sonny also confessed that Carly’s boundaries weren’t working for him anymore. Now that things were official with Nina, Sonny insisted she was part of his life.
Sonny argued that if Carly were seeing someone, he wouldn’t interfere. Carly asked how Sonny knew she wasn’t seeing someone, so he admitted he didn’t and wondered if she indeed was.
After Carly relented a bit, Sonny wanted to put protection on her since “The Hook” was still on the loose. Nevertheless, Carly declined and later refused to talk to Nina about Donna – opting to keep using Sonny as a go-between instead.
When Sam spoke to Nina, she seemed hopeful about keeping the peace, but she basically admitted she was “Team Carly.” Sam also sat down with Carly and heard the Jacksonville story, but she was surprised that Drew was barely mentioned.
If Carly had something more to say, Sam gently encouraged her to say it. As Drew appeared nearby, Carly admitted she thought there was something Sam should know.
Back with Sonny, he suggested to Robert that he could find a way to keep Anna from going to Pentonville. Robert suspected Anna would have to go on the run if she went with Sonny’s plan, so he insisted he had it under control and warned Sonny to stay out of it.
