General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Wednesday, August 31, tease that Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) will get busted trying to finish Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) off – or at least it’ll look that way! Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) will also accuse Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) while Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) makes a plea to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), so let’s discuss what’s in store.
First, Sasha will wonder why Brando stopped believing in her.
Brando may insist that he still has faith in Sasha, but she’ll accuse him of losing that faith and launch a fight – perhaps over the guardianship that Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) pushed for.
Over with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), she’ll struggle to answer Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) question since she’s missing time.
Elizabeth can’t account for her whereabouts when Ava was stabbed – though Liz was clearly shown disoriented with a head wound before the attack.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t matter right now since Liz can’t remember anything either way.
Elizabeth may make up a story that satisfies Jordan for a while, but the commissioner could grow suspicious of what she’s hiding.
Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) may also have questions about Liz’s interaction with Nikolas at the picnic.
GH spoilers say Finn will mull over Nikolas’ motives and may think he’s the one who’s truly got something to hide.
Outside Ava’s room in the ICU, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will scowl as he looks in at Nikolas.
It sounds like Spencer will tell Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) that his father did him a favor, but he may keep the details vague.
Maybe Spencer will argue that Nikolas showed his true colors and made it clear that they could never have a normal father-son relationship.
Even if Spencer doesn’t share anything about Nik’s betrayal with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), he might let Trina know they’re no longer on decent terms.
As for Nikolas, he just told unconscious Ava that it wouldn’t have come to this if she had just listened.
Wednesday’s preview video shows Nikolas standing over Ava ominously – like he’s going to smother her with a pillow or find some other way to end her permanently.
Of course, Nikolas seems too obvious as a suspect for him to actually be guilty.
That said, Nikolas is capable of some pretty unsettling things and could still be trying to finish Ava off now.
On the other hand, it could be a simple fake-out where Nikolas only appears to be doing something nefarious.
Nikolas could actually be trying to adjust Ava’s pillow or something along those lines.
Regardless, Nikolas will get busted by someone entering Ava’s room, so he’ll have to think fast and try to make himself look like the doting husband.
Next, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will grill Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) about what she was hoping to learn from Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) during her obvious fishing expedition.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will take a little fishing trip of her own when she quizzes Victor and sarcastically thanks him for something.
This conversation with Victor should lead to Anna’s discovery, so she may realize Charlotte Cassadine (Amelia McLain) is the key to Victor’s manipulation.
At home, Carly will listen to Drew’s passionate plea.
Drew will feel like they’re on the brink of something incredible, so he may push Carly to take that leap with him.
However, Carly might drag her feet a bit more. Going all in with Drew is complicated in so many ways – and that could leave Carly struggling to make a commitment.
Carly will rethink a choice she’s made later this week, so there’s still hope for Drew to figure out a future with her.
