General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 9, reveals that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was found while Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) almost kissed Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Peter August (Wes Ramsey) also gave Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) an ultimatum on the pier, so here’s how all Wednesday’s action went down.
At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Drew was sorry for his role in sending Carly to The Haunted Star.
Carly explained how she walked in on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in bed with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and confirmed her marriage was over.
Carly talked about reaching the point of no return and recalled how Sonny threw Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in her face.
After Carly reflected on her love for Jason and how things turned out with Sonny, she pushed Drew to distract her with his own problems.
Drew opened up about how monotonous his life was in prison and how he scratched Scout Cain’s (Ella Ramacieri) name into the wall to give himself something to focus on.
That meant focusing on Scout’s mother as well, but he came home and realized Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) was a different person now.
Carly realized Sam made it clear she was with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). Carly knew that had to be rough on Drew, but Drew acted like he ignored the writing on the wall.
Drew suggested he had been holding onto the past, but he suddenly seemed very interested in living in the moment with Carly.
They moved in close and almost locked lips, but Carly decided they couldn’t do this.
Although Carly wanted to kiss Drew, she acknowledged that they were both vulnerable and it was too messy since Drew was Jason’s brother.
Drew was glad Carly was thinking clearly enough for the both of them.
After Carly thanked Drew for talking to her, he promised to be there for her anytime – and Carly said she might hold him to that.
As Carly walked away, Drew couldn’t help but watch her go.
At GH, Sonny got updates on Dante getting bashed in the head during Peter’s escape.
Sam explained how Dante had joined the search for Peter.
Sonny eventually met up with Dante and learned Peter had gone after “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt).
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) also heard the news and determined that Peter had found out the truth.
Sonny realized Nina already knew the real Louise story – even back in Nixon Falls.
Nina hated that all the secrets were for nothing and faced Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) questions about the last time she’d heard from Valentin.
Meanwhile, a restaurant employee found Valentin looking dirty and disheveled atop a pile of trash bags outside.
The employee ultimately called Anna and alerted her to Valentin’s situation.
Next, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) confirmed over the phone that there was no sign of Charlotte Cassadine (Amelie McLain) at home.
Esme left Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) fearful after they heard about the open door and the unconscious pizza delivery man.
As for Maxie, she told Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) the truth about “Bailey” aka Louise.
After Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) realized Victor might’ve had a hand in helping Peter, he blamed himself for the Louise secret coming out.
Austin explained the sonogram issue and how he offered guidance on tracking down the owner.
Maxie was clearly upset and later acted like it was Austin’s fault that Louise was in the hands of a psychopath.
On the pier, Peter explained how he snatched Charlotte as an insurance policy.
While held at gunpoint, Peter suggested Charlotte was in an abandoned warehouse and wanted to complete their bargain.
In the end, Victor cut the deal: a boat for Peter’s escape in exchange for Charlotte’s location. Peter gave Victor the vicinity Charlotte was in and vowed to send the exact address once the boat showed up.
Once Peter was alone, he called Maxie and urged her to come see that Louise was safe.
Peter warned Maxie to ditch her phone and come alone to Pier 55, so she did what she was told.
Peter smiled over his boat arriving right on time and texted Victor that fair was fair.
After Peter sent a message about being a man of his word, Maxie showed up on the pier.
Peter then gave Maxie an ultimatum since she could either say goodbye to Louise right there or come with them – that way they could all be a family.
Back with Sam, she told Dante that he was her future and admitted she loved him.
Sam seemed flustered as she assured Dante there was no pressure to say it back, but he’d been wanting to say it for a while and loved Sam, too.
In the chapel, Sonny sat with Nina and realized she knew Louise was safe when she sent Peter on that wild goose chase in the Caribbean.
Sonny smiled over that, but Nina didn’t want him to make her sound noble. Even so, Sonny felt it was proof that things weren’t always so black and white.
Sonny regretted what Carly saw and some of the things he said tonight, but he knew Carly had a point.
What happened between Sonny and Nina wasn’t just in the past.
Sonny confessed it was also in the here and now, but he headed out and left Nina to ponder that alone.
After Valentin was hospitalized, blood tests confirmed no alcohol was in his system.
Anna realized someone simply wanted to make it look like Valentin was drunk.
Valentin still seemed rather disoriented, but he remembered figuring out that “Bailey” was Louise.
Valentin was terrified when he realized Charlotte was missing and assumed Peter had kidnapped her.
Fortunately, Charlotte arrived and ran into her papa’s arms.
After Charlotte confirmed that Grandpa Victor saved her, Victor appeared in Valentin’s hospital room and looked on edge.
