General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, October 19 Recap – Esme’s New Home – Cyrus’ Shiv Setup – Lucy Missing

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 19, reveals that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) carried out a shiv setup while Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) went missing. Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) also struggled to keep Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) out of the tower Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) was held in, so here’s how things played out.

At Wyndemere, Ava confronted Nikolas about Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) divorce claims, but Nik acted like Victor got the wrong idea.

Nikolas assured Ava that he wanted her and felt confident that she wanted him, too.

Ava was satisfied by Nikolas’ explanation and mentioned leaving some files in the tower.

Although Ava needed them for inventory, Nikolas warned that she couldn’t go up there and left Ava suspicious.

However, Nikolas acted like there was a leak and that everything was already safely tucked away elsewhere.

Ava thought Nikolas was trying to get rid of her, but she ultimately headed out anyway.

Meanwhile, Esme grew frustrated when she was unable to pick the lock.

That led to Esme throwing things around the room and screaming until she felt the baby move.

Esme calmed herself and decided they couldn’t give up, so she once again tried unlocking the door with the wire.

Since this baby was Esme’s ace in the hole, she told “Ace” they did it once the lock clicked open.

Although Esme planned to go see Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), Nikolas appeared and blocked her path.

After locking Esme in the bathroom, Nikolas cleared out all the art and suggested Esme would no longer be living in luxury.

At Pentonville, Cyrus approached Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and expressed regret for pushing Laura Collins (Genie Francis) as well as Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) away.

Cyrus saw an opportunity in Spencer to make amends, but Spencer said the “adopt an inmate program” had been discontinued.

Once “Book” (Brad Schmidt) appeared, he wanted his library work assignment back in exchange for protecting Spencer.

Book called Cyrus a “prehistoric pusher” and acted like Spencer shouldn’t rely on this old man for help.

Spencer acted like he could take care of himself, but Cyrus was the one who took a punch for getting in Book’s way.

Book was about to punch the other cheek when Cyrus got the upper hand and shoved him against the wall.

After a guard showed up, Cyrus insisted Book had a shiv – and sure enough, one had been planted in Book’s pocket.

While Book was led to solitary confinement, Spencer handed over a special New Testament that hadn’t been logged in the system yet.

That way, Spencer wouldn’t owe Cyrus any favors – though Cyrus assured Spencer that he never owed him anything.

At GH, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) admitted Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) scared her following that hook attack.

Diane brought up the open letter in The Invader and praised Alexis for the work she did.

Next, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) paid Diane a visit to see if she could remember anything else about her attacker.

Diane couldn’t, but she wound up having a somewhat flirty conversation with Robert as they connected over brushes with death and poetry.

At the Metro Court, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) joined Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) at a table.

Kristina was glad that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) had been cleared and was back at work.

Once Alexis showed up, she wound up speaking with Kristina alone. That led to Kristina and Alexis patching things up after their recent argument over Kristina’s career path.

Sonny also cornered Dex to acknowledge that he’d been treated unfairly, but it helped Sonny see that Dex was strong, discreet and loyal.

Since Sonny was looking for a new lieutenant he could trust to replace Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Dex jumped at the chance.

After Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) heard gunshots, she raced to Pier 55 and found Lucy’s shoe.

Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) also arrived and acted like he had his driver pull the car over out of concern following the shots.

Victor then put on a big show about being worried for Lucy and never forgiving himself if something happened to her.

Dante was summoned to investigate, so he got updates on the apparent crime scene from Anna and grilled Victor.

Since there was nothing to connect Victor to what happened, Dante let him go for now.

Nevertheless, Dante spoke to Anna in private and trusted her gut on Victor being involved.

Anna admitted Lucy was working for her and knew Lucy wouldn’t have left a designer shoe behind willingly.

It left Anna fearful that Victor found out about Lucy’s deception and dealt with her.

Anna said they both knew what Victor was capable of, but Dante felt that Lucy was relentless. If anyone could survive Victor, Dante insisted it was Lucy.

Moments later, a woman could be seen dragging herself through shallow water near a rocky area.

Back with Victor, he ran into Ava again at the Metro Court.

Ava made it clear that her marriage was none of Victor’s concern, but he argued that Ava was too much woman for Nikolas.

Although Victor knew he should stay in his lane, he understood the crushing disappointment of trusting the wrong person and told Ava they both deserved better.

General Hospital spoilers say Victor will continue to make some twisted moves, so stay tuned!
