General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, October 19 Update – Sonny Makes Dex the New Jason – Nik & Ava Face Off

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Wednesday, October 19, teases that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will make Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) the new Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) while Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) has an escape setback. Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) will also face off, so let’s talk about what’s coming up.

For starters, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will reach out to Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) and hope they can put their recent conflict to rest.

Although Alexis would like to see Kristina have bigger career goals for herself, she knows this is Kristina’s life to live – and that means her daughter’s happiness has to come first.

Alexis will also visit Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) at GH, so Diane will grill her friend about the opinion piece in The Invader.

Diane will sarcastically wonder if fear made Alexis goad her attacker, but she may not be all that irritated in the end.

The public had a right to know about the hook attacks – and with any luck, maybe Alexis’ article will lead to “The Hook” responding or at least slipping up.

Other GH spoilers say Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) will drop by Diane’s room to see how she’s recovering and seek more hook info.

If Diane can remember any new clues at all, Robert will want to hear them.

Dex proved he could withstand some heat when Sonny wrongfully accused him of going after his loved ones.

Sonny was also pleased when Dex refused to turn him into the cops, so he’ll want to reward that loyalty.

Now that Dex has proven himself a bit more, Sonny will suggest he’s going to need a trusted lieutenant.

No one could ever truly fill Jason’s shoes, but it seems Sonny will be willing to let Dex try.

While Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) plane prepares for takeoff, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will have a showdown with Victor Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

Accusations will fly as Anna insists Victor wants to harm his own son, but Victor will deny it.

Instead, Victor will spin things around on Anna and wonder if there’s a reason that he shouldn’t trust Valentin.

Victor will ask if Anna is accusing Valentin of something, but she may warn that his mind games won’t work.

Although Valentin is at risk, the more pressing matter is Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and her gunshot wound on a different pier.

A mystery shooter wearing gloves pumped a bullet into Lucy’s stomach, so let’s hope someone finds her and calls for help ASAP.

As for who the shooter might be, Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby (Heather Mazur) might be an option.

Then again, it could be a different associate, but the point is Victor apparently set grave danger in motion.

At Pentonville, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) will have a proposal for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) to consider.

After Cyrus pushes Spencer to let him make amends for his past mistakes, Spencer will give the idea some thought.

Cyrus isn’t exactly a trustworthy guy, but it’d be wise for Spencer to have him as a bodyguard.

There are some dangerous characters around who don’t care about the protection Spencer has in place, so Cyrus could serve as a great insurance policy.

At Wyndemere, Ava will demand an explanation from Nikolas regarding his about-face on the divorce.

Will Nikolas admit that Victor threatened his life and forced him to go along with ending the marriage?

Regardless, Ava will get into a heated argument with Nikolas while Esme picks the lock of the room she’s stuck in.

It appears Esme will successfully get the door open and bolt from the storage wing, but her getaway will go awry.

Since Ava will also be at Wyndemere, will she have a shocking reunion with Esme as she tries to escape? We’ll provide updates as other news comes in.

General Hospital spoilers say Nikolas will have another crisis on his hands no matter what, so stay tuned.
