General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of August 8-12 tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will have to face a love reality along with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who’ll make a celebrity job offer. Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) new PC connection will also be revealed, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
For starters, Sonny will pay Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) a visit at Charlie’s Pub to celebrate some achievement.
Congratulations will be in order for Kristina, so Sonny will give her props.
Meanwhile, Nina will try to convince a celebrity chef to join the Metro Court’s staff, so look for Jamika Pessoa to play herself in some fun scenes.
Later, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) will have a gift for Nina – and she’ll want to pass it along in person.
While Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) grows suspicious of Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) plot, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will turn to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) for answers.
That could be regarding Cody and his dating disasters with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) will do his best to steer Britt away from Cody and nix the idea of another date, but Cody will be awfully persistent.
We’ll also see Cody run into a familiar face and have a shocking reaction.
It sounds like GH will reveal that Cody has another connection to Port Charles, so he may realize it’s an awfully small world!
Elsewhere, Sonny and Nina will have another tough discussion about the reality of their romance.
If Nina and Sonny are going to make this worse, they have to be honest about the flaws in their relationship and whether they can fix or live with them.
As Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) doubts Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) loyalty, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will dig deeper into what Valentin’s hiding.
It turns out Anna will recruit Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) as part of that plan, but she may have trouble getting him on board.
Next, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) will grill Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) about her stalled divorce.
Ava has bigger things to worry about due to Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) parapet tumble and may not want to rock the boat with Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) since he’s keeping her secret.
Of course, it’s doubtful Ava will spill any of that to Scott, so she may insist she simply changed her mind and urge him to back off.
Back with Sam, she’ll confess some fears she has regarding her relationship with Dante.
Now that Dante wants to live together, Sam will think they need to have a deeper conversation about their future and the risks of falling even harder for each other.
It turns out Dante will make a stunning arrest later, so who’s it going to be?
There’s a chance it’ll be someone like Cody or maybe this will tie in with Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) looming scandal instead.
It seems a little early for Ava to get busted over Esme or for Nikolas to try taking the fall for her, but those are other arrest options to keep in mind.
Regardless, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) will keep working to clear Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) name as the jury gets closer to a verdict.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) will also make a significant choice as that verdict draws near.
We’ll see Portia feel the need to act quickly along with Curtis, who’ll grow increasingly worried about the whole situation.
Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) will also tackle a difficult assignment, so maybe he’ll be the cop ordered to take Trina into custody if the verdict is guilty.
It’d be hard for Rory to put handcuffs on Trina and lead her away.
Rory will hope it doesn’t come to that, but Trina herself will be terrified as she opens up to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and awaits her fate.
Trina’s verdict will be in soon, so she’ll have to face the outcome either way.
Other GH spoilers say Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will meet with Mia (Vanessa Mathison) the executive coach to go over some business tactics.
Maybe Mia can help Carly find a sense of purpose and new career path now that she’s lost her half of the Metro Court.
We’ll also see Drew tempt Valentin with an offer, but there’s no guarantee Valentin will go for the idea.
It’ll be interesting to see exactly how Valentin responds once he mulls Drew’s proposal over.
Over with Nikolas and Victor, they’ll turn to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) for assistance.
Alexis might be in the position to help Spencer at The Invader if she does a story highlighting a sympathetic angle.
It might pressure the PCPD to drop the additional escape charges, so we’ll see if Alexis cooperates.
