General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap review for the week of October 10-14 reveals that we’re rooting for Team Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to beat man-child Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) and Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) mutual misery was also fun to watch, so let’s discuss what happened in Port Charles.
First, it was ridiculous that Michael could barely contain his Sonny anger during Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) funeral reception.
The least Michael could do is have a little respect for the dead since Brando obviously cared for Sonny a great deal.
Michael struggled to even handle seeing Sonny at the gathering, but the real drama came when Sonny made a genuine effort to reconnect.
Sonny got choked up as he talked about Mike Corbin (Max Gail) and all the people he’d lost, so he didn’t want to let this estrangement with Michael go on.
Unfortunately, Michael stood his ground with Sonny, especially after catching a glimpse of Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to remind him of his fury.
What has Sonny really done to warrant this level of disdain?
Sonny has honestly done far worse things in the past, so it’s silly that Michael is just now acting like his actions are unforgivable.
Everything that went down with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was quite typical for a mob boss who was desperate to protect his family.
Michael needs to let go of how things played out between Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), too.
Like Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) pointed out, people get divorced all the time.
Ava insisted Michael should grow up and move on with his life, so she was no doubt speaking for a good chunk of the audience.
It doesn’t seem healthy for Michael to be this fixated on taking Sonny down.
Maybe if Michael spent a little less time obsessed with making Sonny pay and a little more time on his wife, he’d have figured out by now that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is seriously ill.
Michael wants to act like this is about stopping big bad criminal Sonny, but what about Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)?
Jason was a hit man who certainly committed his fair share of crimes, but Michael adored him.
Bottom line, Michael is a hypocrite and comes across like an immature brat in this storyline.
It’d be great if Sonny could turn the tables and show Michael who’s the real boss!
Of course, Esme also caused quite a stir when showed off her baby bump to Nikolas.
It serves Nikolas right to have to deal with pregnant Esme considering how he treated Ava.
That said, Esme has gotten away with some truly terrible offenses, so we didn’t mind when Nik caught her off guard and locked her in Wyndemere’s storage wing.
It’s highly entertaining to watch Nikolas and Esme torture each other, bring on more mutual misery!
