General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap review for the week of October 17-21 reveals that there was an Alex Marick (Finola Hughes) elephant in the room while Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) mysteries cleverly collided.
After Lucy was shot and went missing from the pier, fans saw a similar-looking woman dragging herself out of water and into the Quartermaine boathouse.
Of course, it was easy to figure out that was Holly based on the timing of her return and other spoilers.
Even so, that was a clever and fun idea on the writers’ part.
If they’d been able to keep Holly’s comeback a secret, it would’ve been a great twist to use Lucy as a fake-out beforehand.
As for Holly’s return, it was lovely to see Emma Samms again – especially in those warm reunion scenes with Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio).
Having Robert and Holly in a new storyline together is a real treat for longtime GH viewers.
It’s also nice to see Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) stepping up his game in the villain department.
Victor is so charming that it’s easy to forget how ruthless he is, but he proved it by putting some truly terrible things in motion – including framing Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) for murder.
However, we have to talk about the Alex Marick elephant in the room!
Anna is supposed to be a smart superspy, so why on earth isn’t she insisting her evil twin sister must be to blame?
Alex has posed as Anna plenty of times – and we all know presumed deaths never seem to stick in Port Charles.
It just feels like Anna is being dumbed down for all this. Whether Alex is responsible or not, she should’ve been the first thought that crossed Anna’s mind.
There’s no reason for the PCPD to immediately think the footage must be doctored when Anna has a dangerous twin who’s been known to do this sort of thing.
Nevertheless, Victor is delightful when he’s in his element.
It feels like we’ve seen a real turning point with Victor, so we’ll see just how far his cruelty goes from here.
General Hospital spoilers say Anna will have quite a mess to climb out of, so stay tuned.
