General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) could take Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to bed and call out Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) name. Carly might prove she’s using Jason’s twin brother as a replacement and leave Drew crushed.
GH writers have certainly spent some time building a friendship between Carly and Drew. They honestly weren’t close before Drew’s presumed death – at least not after the real Jason came home and reclaimed his spot.
Carly herself admitted she never got to know the real Drew, so she’s enjoying the chance to get to know him now. Of course, the real Drew still reminds Carly of Jason in some ways.
Carly confessed that Drew has the same touch as Jason when it comes to his pep talks. We also know Carly and Drew almost kissed, so there’s an attraction to work with.
Now that Carly has signed her divorce papers, it might leave her more open to the idea of moving forward with Drew. It could at least convince Carly to surrender to temptation at some point.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) hooked up, so Carly deserves the chance to land in bed with somebody else, too.
If that’s going to happen, it makes sense for Carly to make love to Drew. He’s the one who’s been in Carly’s orbit more than anyone during all her marriage drama.
However, there’s been this theme of Drew living in Jason’s shadow – like when Sonny was off his meds and tried to act like Drew was just a cheap knockoff of his far better brother.
Now we’ve got Carly highlighting the similarities between Drew and Jason, so that could be a factor in what comes next. It’s obvious that Drew is sliding into the role Jason would’ve played if he were still around.
Maybe the writers will play that up even further by having Carly call out Jason’s name when they’re sleeping together!
Sonny took a jab during an argument with Carly about how many times she must’ve wanted to sleep with Jason. It was definitely going to happen if Sonny hadn’t come home.
Since Carly can’t hit the sheets with dead Jason, she may choose Drew as the next best thing. If GH goes for the soap trope of calling out the wrong name in bed, Carly could cause a serious uproar by shouting “Jason” instead of “Drew.”
