General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that we have to consider if Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) might return for a twisted family reunion. Will GH bring Nelle back from the dead for a Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) sister feud and some Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) drama?
After Nelle made her deadly exit, it left a very specific void on canvas. The show clearly still wanted someone manipulative and Nelle-like to keep stirring up trouble.
Of course, they eventually cast the role of Esme Prince (Avery Kirsten Pohl) – and in doing so, they achieved a character with a similar look and vibe.
However, there’s a problem when it comes to characters like Esme. Sooner or later, they have to face a downfall.
Esme is a schemer to the core, so you run the risk of writing a character like her into a corner.
If Esme ends up in prison or faces a deadly exit of her own someday, what will the show do then?
That might be the prime opportunity to tag-team Nelle back in and let her create some fresh chaos.
The April 8 episode confirmed that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) had twins, so that makes Nelle and Willow sisters.
Let’s think about that confirmation for a moment. The writers could’ve easily rewritten it so there was a mistake.
They could’ve made Willow the one and only daughter of Nina if they wanted to. Instead, they chose to keep Nelle’s biological connection to Nina and have now given her one to Willow as well.
Could they be laying the groundwork for a twisted family reunion at some point? This is all kinds of messy since Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) had a child with one twin and now her sister is raising that child.
Willow is Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Viron Weaver) aunt.
Michael, Willow and Nina are all going to have a lot to process once the truth comes out. Just imagine the dramatic potential if Nelle came back into the picture.
We never saw Nelle’s body, so there may be some soapy explanation for her survival along with a way to get her off the hook for her crimes.
It’d be great to see Nelle and Willow sparring over Wiley with Michael and Nina caught in the conflict.
Nina would no doubt want to bring her girls together, but that could also leave her feeling like she had to choose sides.
Willow is the “good twin” in this scenario, so it makes sense to bring the “evil twin” back on canvas and play all the mayhem that comes with that.
Nelle might want her revenge on Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) as well, so we’ve barely scratched the surface when it comes to the drama of a Nelle comeback.
Since the show added Willow as a second daughter and kept Nelle as part of the equation, GH would be crazy to let this opportunity slip through their fingers.
When the time is right, Nelle may come back from the dead and cause all sorts of issues. As other news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
