General Hospital spoilers reveal some sort of secret between newcomer Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and old favorite Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). They don’t want to talk about it, but Sam McCall sure is curious.
General Hospital Spoilers: How Cody Came To Be
Josh Kelly debuted in the role by parachuting into the Metro Court pool and the One Life to Live alum revealed in the June 14 issue of Soap Opera Digest how he ended up in Port Charles after already working with Executive Producer Frank Valentini in Llanview for several years.
Apparently, Kelly and Valentini were friendly enough that Kelly thought it would work to just ask for a job. And it did work.
Kelly said that he had a friend audition for GH in 2021 and it got him thinking he wanted to make a return to daytime because he missed the steady work. “I actually texted Frank Valentini and I was like ‘Hey, why am I not on GH?'” Kelly told Digest.
Kelly added that Valentini responded to him with “He was like, ‘are you serious, you’d have to do a contract.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s do it.’ They were like ‘We’re going to come up with a character for you’ — and they did.”
So Who Is Cody Bell?
Now that we know the weird and random way Cody Bell came to be, who is he really to Dante?
They claim they knew each other in summer camp as kids, but when Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) suggested that Cody might want to put down roots in Port Charles, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) was firmly against the idea.
It’s clear there is a secret between them and Sam is bound to find out what it is. After all, she is even ready to help Cody find a job with the Quartermaines.
It’s also clear that Cody is meant to be a new love interest for Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) as he knocked her into the pool when he parachuted into the pool.
A drunk Britt was outraged and hated him immediately, which can only mean that love is on the way.
As the show spent months stressing how Britt has such a horrible love life with very few prospects, it’s obvious she finally found the one even if it wasn’t a match with Society Setups.
