In tonight’s Good Sam, Griff and Sam wait to hear if Vivian is ok after she was in a car accident due to a terrible storm. Meanwhile, the ED is filling up with victims of accidents, people with shortness of breath, and more. Sam and Griff learn that Vivian wasn’t found in or around her car. Sam heads out to find her. She has to. The last time they spoke they were arguing.

Vivian is under the freeway helping a pregnant woman named Sadie who is having contractions. Sam finds her and is relieved to see she is ok. The two help Sadie begin her labor journey as the snowfalls. Back at the ED, Lex helps remove a crate with a stick attached that is in the spleen of a man. They remove the box. The others think she has a knack for trauma. Griff runs the cardiac team. He gets word Vivian is all right. He looks relieved.

Vivian and Sam commend one another on delivering the baby. Sam cannot believe how her mom didn’t miss a beat. Just then, Vivian passes out and hits her head on a nearby car. Sam yells for help.

Vivian wakes in the hospital. She has a concussion. They tell her to rest. Sam heads to call Asher to update him. On her way, she sees Malcolm. The two are pleasant to one another. Later, Sam meets with a woman who has lung cancer. They tell her they need to remove her lung. The team is excited. Sam tells them they need to study if they want in on the surgery.

Sam finds her mom checking on the pregnant patient who gave birth. The two fight. Sam needs her to rest. She is also still angry but they need to talk later. After, Sam tells Shaw he can scrub in on the lung surgery. Lex and Caleb are angry they were not picked.

Tim confesses to Joey that he cheated a week before they became engaged. Joey is in shock. They were planning to speed up their wedding now Joey is beside himself. He runs off. Back in the unit, Sam and Griff try to sidestep some questions from a father and young son who have been hospitalized. The father needs blood and quickly realizes his son may not be his after all. He asks his wife who denies it.

Vivian appears to have more than a concussion. They perform a scan of her neck and decide she needs surgery on a vessel.

Lex continues to get called by the ED. Griff tells her she needs to focus on CT. That is her department. She is on track to being chief.

Sam and the team discuss their patient whose blood type isn’t a match. The patient has to be sedated because he is so upset with his wife and has become tachycardic. The case triggers Joey when they discuss the wife may have cheated. The team tries to solve why the man has an infection.

Sam confesses to Caleb she needs him in her life. She gives him hope when she tells him he is important to her. Meanwhile, Lex gets pulled down to the ED again. She contemplates leaving CT behind. Joey is told by an attending he may be interested in plastics but he has yet to be a first assistant. This angers him. He tells the patient headed in for lung surgery that Shaw isn’t the greatest doctor.

Griff finally tells Sam that Vivian gave up practicing so she could be a better, more hands on mother. Sam never knew this. She turns to find most of the staff there to support Vivian as she is in surgery.

Later, Malcolm comes to check on Sam. She tells him they have all been dealing with something personal. She starts to cry. She asks Malcolm to make his mom stop looking into her dad. He hugs her as she cries. Caleb comes around the corner and sees them.

Lex finally tells Griff she is switching specialities. He is supportive. He visits Vivian after. He tells her she scared him. She is the love of his life.

Sam and Caleb speak with the mother whose husband needed a blood transfusion. She admits she did have a fling a long time ago and couldn’t tell her husband. Sam thinks honesty is the best policy.

Malcolm talks to his mom and tries to get her to back off of Griff. She shows him an EMS Field Report from years and years ago. Griff was drunk when he got into an accident, she tells him. Meanwhile, Sam tells Caleb she isn’t hung up on Malcom. She invites him home with her. Shaw confronts Joey about stealing his surgery. Tim dodged a bullet after all, Shaw tells him.
