In tonight’s Good Sam episode, Sam tries to find a card for her dad as he is getting his credential back. Joey and Caleb are with her. Joey is still upset over his failed engagement. He asks Sam and Caleb about their successful relationship. Sam clarifies that they aren’t in a relationship so to speak.
At the hospital, Griff says goodbye to Lex as she heads to the ER. Meanwhile, Joey and Isan fight after Joey Joey stole his surgery. Vivian and Ash inform Griff he can return to surgery. He dances after they cannot see him. He runs into Sam. Malcolm calls Sam to see him. He shares that his mom knows Griff was drunk and caused Sam injury when she was young. Vivian hid it.
Lex meets her new attending, Nicholas Vega. He isn’t friendly. Sam is forced to tell a cystic fibrosis patient named Chloe that her surgery won’t be happening today because her best friend and donor Yolanda has a fever. Lex vents to Griff about Vega.
Sam breaks up a fight between Joey and Isan. They are both on the lung transplant and need to get it together. Griff comes face to face with Malcolm’s mom, Tina. She wants him to step down. She is selling the hospital. He runs to tell Sam.
Griff has to put Chloe on Oxygen while Yolanda becomes hypothermic. News of the hospital to be sold makes it around the departments. Griff runs to tell Vivian and Ash what he has learned. Meanwhile, some of the residents and nurses are getting their resumes together. Caleb has an offer in Boston if he wants it.
Yolanda tells Sam and Caleb she was recently at a party, maybe that made her sick. Joey tracks down Lex in the ER and vents to her. She hears a scream. Her discharged patient has fallen outside. Vega tells her it’s on her. She brings her patients in and starts her assessment.
Sam is stressed trying to find out what kind of infection Yolanda has as Chloe is now on a vent. Isan comes to Sam, terrified about the sale of the hospital and how Griff will be replaced with a new surgeon. Sam comforts him that evens fine and then runs to Vivian who tells her it is possible.
After having a seizure, Yolanda runs to Chloe’s bedside. Sam and Isan find her. She admits to using ecstasy.
Sam wishes she was honest but they may be able to do the surgery. Malcolm confronts Tina about selling the hospital. Determines she is doing all of this as revenge against his dad. He runs into Caleb on his way out who tries to talk to him. Malcolm tells him where to go, they aren’t friends.
Malcolm tells Sam that his mom is looking for revenge. Sam is in disbelief. Sam thinks there is more. His mom is getting a kickback or something so she will make out. They plan to find evidence.
Lex thinks she knows what is going on with her patient. He has something wrong with his ears. Sounds make him pass out. Meanwhile, Sam is in surgery performing the lobectomy. Joey and Isan start arguing. Sam sets them straight. They discuss the new chief. Isan leaves the OR, Sam lies to him.
Malcolm meets with his dad and confesses everything about his mom. They plan to try and stop her. After surgery, Sam feels bad she lied to Isan. She is just like her dad. Griff cuts in on the board meeting. The sale has been terminated but he wants to share what he did.
Joey calls Isan to apologize. His ex comes to see him after. He wants to get back together. Joey tells him he isn’t ready to forget. Lex finally gets some respect from Vega who also shares that Griff sang her praises for her.
Malcolm’s mom leaves the hospital for good. He is happy, he tells Sam. He is also glad Griff told the truth. After, Caleb asks Sam that although the sale is off, he wonders what she would do if he left the hospital. She tells him she isn’t ready to answer that or think about it. After she leaves he applies for a job in Boston.
Vivian and Griff share a drink to celebrate. They kiss before undressing one another. Lex sees through the office shades.
