In tonight’s Good Sam episode, Vivian wakes up and realizes what she has done. She wakes Griff. She tells him to get dressed. They both want to keep this between them. Sam arrives with coffee. Griff gets the call they are waiting for. Griff learns he is all set with no punishment by the board. Vivian then gets a call. She might be in trouble even if Griff isn’t. She has been relieved of her duties as CMO. She has to wait months for them to review the case. Vivian was on duty that night that Griff was drinking.
Griff heads back to see the team. They learn Isan has taken a personal day. Griff then runs into Lex who tells him to stay away from her. She saw him and Vivian. Sam catches their fight but doesn’t hear what it is about. She asks Griff. He tells her to say focused.
Griff and Sam, as well as the team, meet with their patient. They discover their older female patient has a tumor in her heart. Meanwhile, Lex treats a young boy in the ED who is having trouble breathing. Vivian is confronted by Asher. He knows she was with someone the night before.
Sam runs into Malcolm. He tells her he is going to replace his mom on the board. Sam is working to help her mom. Malcolm also wants to help. After, Sam learns from her team about her parents sleeping together. She heads right to them to ask them what is going on. She now has to deal with the team not wanting to follow Griff. Vivian tries to explain. Sam doesn’t want to hear it.
Sam sends Joey to work in the ED with Lex. Caleb stays with her. Joey tells Lex first thing in the ED that Griff is dead to him. Lex just wants to focus on her patient whose mom has arrived. She learns the dad passed recently and had a cardiac history. Meanwhile, Griff, Sam and Caleb look at the woman’s scan who has the tumor in her heart. Griff gets to work trying his planned approach of cryogenics in the SIM lab.
Malcolm tells Sam the person who can help her mom is Ronda, her mom’s enemy. Sam goes right to her to get her support. She isn’t looking to help. She thinks they need a new CMO. Things get worse for Sam when she learns Caleb is interviewed for a job in Boston.
Lex’s young patient enters into VTach. They shock him while Sam also has an emergency with her cardiac patient. They need to get her into surgery right away and Griff is in the SIM lab still. Sam then learns her dad called a reporter about the cardiac patient with the rare diagnosis. She has had it. Everything is falling apart.
Sam sneaks off to take a cold bath to clear her head. Malcolm catches her and offers to bring her bowling, its another way to get rid of stress. While bowling, Malcolm tells her she needs to stop being the pins and be the ball, she needs to stop trying to help everyone one.
Lex has to face Griff when he does a CT consult for her patient. It is then Joey confronts Lex’s co worker in the ED. He slept with Joey’s fiancé and Lex knew it was him. While all of this drama goes down, Sam rushes her cardiac patient into surgery and tries Griff’s technique of cryogenics. She successfully saves the woman’s life. Griff steps into the OR just as they close her up. He looks upset.
Sam talks excitedly with Caleb about the surgery. Caleb then asks for a letter of recommendation. Sam is caught off guard. He tells her he needs to change things instead of waiting for things to change.
Lex confronts her boss. The drama wasn’t hers today. She wont tell him much more but she kept it together. He puts her back on days.
Asher confronts Griff. He sees griff as petty and insecure. He isn’t the man he tries to pretend to be.
Sam and Griff run into each other in the elevator. He is mad she is going to do press for his surgical idea. She tells him she is done with competing. She plans to take back her department. She tells Malcolm after and then visits Lex with wine. Lex doesn’t know how she let this ruin their friendship. Sam tells her that this actually opened up things for them to better their friendship.
Joey visits his fiancé. He is so angry but wants to see him. He kisses him. Meanwhile, Asher sleeps on the couch while Sam tells Lex she will be chief again. Griff sits alone drinking.
