In tonight’s I Love A Mama’s Boy recap it was Lorenda’s birthday. Her son surprised her in the middle of the night. He woke her up and he started singing her the birthday song and everything. Tre was great towards his mom. They have a special relationship. Sometimes that relationship intrudes on the relationship he has with his girlfriend. Abbey once called their relationship toxic. Lorenda’s birthday fell on Valentine’s Day. Tre has therefore never taken Abbey out on that holiday for lovers because he was always too busy doing something with his mom and so this time a friend of Abbey’s told him how wrong he was for doing that.

It was Valentine’s Day! They were in a relationship. Abbey at least wants to be included in his plans with his mom and her friend said as much to Tre. Tre came to realize that he shouldn’t just forget about Abbey entirely on this day. So, he invited Abbey to join his celebration with his mom. Abbey was just so grateful to be included that she actually looked forward to spending time with Lorenda. But she was going to regret that. She didn’t realize how she won a battle and lost a war until much later on. And that could be said for pretty much all the sons included on this season. Take Shekeb for example.

Shekeb was in a relationship with Emily. They moved in together. They should have been focusing on their future together and instead Shekeb was still trying to please his mom. His mom didn’t approve of Emily. Laila wanted Shekeb to be with a woman from her culture and that’s why she only agreed to bless his new place if he went on a date with a woman she actually liked. Shekeb the fool had even gone through with it. He should have known better than to give his mom an inch because she would take a mile. And yet he did it anyways because he figured what could it hurt if he met this other woman.

It turns out this young woman was beautiful. She was from his culture. She even reminded Shekeb so much of himself that he said it was like speaking to a female version of himself. She also understood his close relationship with his mother. She said she wouldn’t have minded if he wanted his mother’s approval because she thought family was everything. This woman was practically perfect for Shekeb. There was just one problem with her. She wasn’t Emily. Shekeb was in a relationship with Emily and he admitted as much to this other woman. And she was disappointed because she thought he was cute.

Not cute enough to help him cheat, but cute all the same. Shekeb also found her attractive. If he hadn’t been with Emily, he might have gone after this other woman. But he already married a woman that his mother thought would be perfect for him. It ended in divorce and Shekeb realized that he has to find women for himself and not let anyone else do it for him. Shekeb loves Emily. Emily isn’t perfect. She also did try to understand his mom in the beginning and the woman practically accused Emily of trying to kill her. Laila can’t be trusted when it comes to Emily. And Emily can no longer be trusted when it comes to Laila. The two women hate each other

Then there was Matt. Matt was engaged and thinking about his future with a woman when the relationship ended because he couldn’t be too far away from his mommy. Now, he’s dating again. He met Britney. He really likes her and he was prepared to introduce her to his mom, but first he had to warn his mom. Kelly doesn’t really like him in a relationship with women. She wants Matt to be with a woman whose exactly like her. She was also perhaps the most guilty in sexualizing her child out of all the mothers this season. People take offence when men do it with their daughters when they should also remember that women can sometimes be guilty of this too.

Kelly was overbearing. So, was Nancy. Nancy hated her daughter-in-law so much that she’s been trying to convince her son that his children aren’t really children. These were her grandchildren, mind you. She should want to protect them. To love them. But she’s now using them to hurt her son and it was unnecessary. He was losing focus. He had to prepare for a fight and his mind couldn’t be elsewhere. How was he supposed to support his family if he fails to win the prize money after a fight? Nancy should have remembered that and she forgot it in her bid to be as toxic as possible. And in a way of these momma’s boy mamas forget about what’s best for their son.

They always feels for sure they know what’s best. Laila was trying to pressure Shekeb into dumping Emily. Nancy was trying to make Robert doubt the paternity of his kids. Kelly likes reminding her son that he will die soon because she felt she would die soon and that he wouldn’t be able to make it without her. Lorenda was the one choosing not to include Abbey in their celebrations on Valentine’s Day. And that was just the mothers shown tonight.

And at the end of it all, Robert still asked his wife to do a paternity test on one of their kids because he hadn’t wanted to hurt his mother’s feelings and tell her to drop it.

THE END!
