In tonight’s I Love A Mama’s Boy episode, Shekeb did as his mother asked. He met with the woman she prefers for him. They went on a date and it went well. Shekeb didn’t leave his girlfriend for this other woman. He didn’t even consider dumping Emily and so Laila was unhappy her plan failed. She still refused to see his new place. She wanted nothing to do with Emily. But Emily does love Shekeb. She loves him so much that she once again tried to approach his mother. She wen to Laila’s house. She knocked on the door and Laila for one was surprised to see Emily. Emily came with a gift. She tried to be nice and none of it worked. Laila just refused to meet Emily half way.
Laila didn’t want to take the gift. It was some potted plants for Laila’s garden and she refused to take it. She refused to accept Emily’s apology. She still thinks Emily is a money grubber whose only interested in Shekeb because she wants to be taken care of. Laila basically shooed Emily from her door. Emily was hurt by this and she left only she left behind the plants. Which was fine for Laila. She did ended up bringing them in the house and there’s no telling what she did with them. She could have planted them. She could have thrown them away. It was a mystery and Laila of course complained about Emily’s visit to her son.
See, Laila wants Shekeb to marry a nice Muslim girl. She arranged for his first wedding and it ended in divorce. You would think that would stop her or make her realize that her son has to make his own decisions. But not Laila. She wants to choose his partner. She was refusing to accept anything less and she wasn’t alone. Kelly was the same. Kelly basically wanted her son Matt to find an exact replica of her. She told him that what she wanted and it wasn’t. She doesn’t want him to ever settled down. She met his new girlfriend on tonight’s episode. She was rude. She asked impertinent questions and she even dared to ask this unfortunate younger woman if she was willing to sign a prenup.
The woman hit back by asking Kelly if she herself signed a prenup. Kelly tried to frighten this new woman off like she did with Matt’s ex and it wasn’t working. It was just clear that Kelly was jealous. She tried to scare off this Brittany and it didn’t work. Brittany didn’t cower before her. She instead held her own. Something that Matt appreciated. He doesn’t know why his mom went off like that with questions like what would she find if she googled Brittany’s name. Plus, the prenup thing was so offbeat. Kelly at one point got offended by the sarcasm she was getting back and Brittany got offended by the condescending questions. And so only Matt thought it went well.
Matt thought it went so well that he was genuinely shocked later when his mom told him she’ll never be replaced. Matt wasn’t trying to replace his mom. He was trying to find a girlfriend and potential life partner. Mom and girlfriend are two separate things. Or at least they were to Matt and maybe not to Kelly. Kelly wants to hold onto her son as long as possible. Its why she took him to the grave where she wants to be buried. She wanted to pick where she would sleep for forever and if there was enough space for his own coffin because she didn’t see him lasting that long after she was gone. And she had a point that way because that’s how she set up her son.
She set up him to fail. Which is what Nancy was trying to do. Nancy wanted to end her son Robert’s marriage to Kristy. Nancy was so set on this that she tried to convince Robert that he should get a paternity test done on of his kids with his wife and the man actually had the nerve to ask Kristy for one. But Kristy was disgusted that he would ask. She was never going to agree to one because she hasn’t done anything to hurt him. He was hurting her by asking for a paternity test when what he should have done was shut down the conversation with his mother. And so Kristy barely wanted to be around Robert.
Nancy may have set Robert up to fail, but he’s a grown man and he should have seen she was trying to end his marriage. Nancy was just jealous that she was no longer the first priority with Robert. He now has a wife. He has kids. Kids she’s trying to deny to end his marriage. Nancy is never going to be happy until Robert is alone with only her there to support him. But not all mamas in mama’s boys were like that. There was also Esther. Esther and her son Ethan have inappropriate relationship. He sexualizes a little too much for comfort and yet he also has a fiancé. Esther likes Leyna. She was there at the proposal and she was cheering for the couple.
Only Esther also got a little too sexy with her son as they were practicing for their mother/son dance for his wedding. Ethan also practiced with Leyna and he wasn’t as sexy with her as he was with his mom.
Emily also tried once again to make peace with Laila. Laila finally agreed to come over to their place and Shekeb asked Emily not to be there because he wanted his mom to feel comfortable there. He also wanted his mom to bless the place like she did for his brother. But Laila hadn’t wanted to bless the place. She wanted to convince Shekeb to move back in with her and that’s the moment Emily came back to the apartment. Emily once again apologized. She tried to reach out to Laila and Laila finally agreed to put Shekeb first. Shekeb is happy with Emily. Emily wants his happiness. Laila wants his happiness. On Shekeb, they can agree. Even if Laila wants Shekeb with Yussra.
