In tonight’s NCIS Hawai’i episode, FBI Special Agent Kate Whistler was in a relationship with NCIS Special Agent Lucy Tara. They’ve made it official. They introduce each other as their significant partner. Whistler has taken Lucy as her date to the company’s picnic. It was all very sweet. It was all very domestic bliss. Lucy was even helping Whistler train for field work when Lucy got called into actual work. The team was called after a serving naval commander was found dead in a car crash. The local police identified the woman as Lt. Commander Audrey Garrett and so Tennant took Kai with her to make the notification.
It was their plan to tell the victim’s husband about her car accident. There was just one problem with this plan. They ran into Audrey herself. The real Audrey. The real Audrey was nine months pregnant and was due soon. Audrey or better yet the real Audrey went on maternity leave early because her doctor believes she’s high risk and so the real Audrey has been home for almost a month. But the fake Audrey had the real Audrey’s information. The fake one even had the real’s one Naval card as well as her medals. The real Audrey went looking for her items after Tennant said they had been found on the fake and it turns out the fake one stole the real one’s information.
She stole it. Then replaced it with fakes. The real Audrey didn’t notice the theft because she had more pressing concerns like her risky pregnancy. The real Audrey also didn’t know why anyone would steal her identity. Her bank information wasn’t accessed. She’s not missing any cash. There’s been no one to open a credit card in her name and on top of that she doesn’t have access to classified information. Audrey is a Supply Corps Officer. She’s the one that makes sure they have the right pens and enough of it. She doesn’t have access to missions or anything top secret. And so the team looked into the fake Audrey.
The fake had used Audrey’s access card to get intel on Naval officers. The team suspected she might have been looking for more people to impersonate and that she was a part of an organization. They knew she was a part of an organization once they proved the fake Audrey had been murdered. Someone hacked the fake one’s car. They were then forced into a car accident and so the team was looking for a killer. Someone who had access to Audrey’s house as well as someone who knew her well enough to hire a fake. It was all the evidence put together that led them to Petrov. Petrov ran a housekeeping business.
Happy Housekeepers was a business that Audrey hired to keep her own house clean. It turns out the fake one also worked there. But the real Audrey has never met the fake one before. The fake one’s real name was Vessela Toska. She was someone down on their luck and she got a job with a housekeeping company. Petrov ran the place. She decided to prey on Toska. She got Toska involved in stealing Audrey’s identity and she later killed Toska when Toska tried to back out. Toska’s car showed that she sent a text message to Petrov that she was “out”. She couldn’t keep pretending to be Audrey.
Then Toska was killed. Petrov or the people working with Petrov had forced Toska into a car crash and so it’s a good thing they had that text message. The text message proves the job wasn’t done. The bad guys were still looking for an Audrey impersonator. That’s when Whistler volunteered. Whistler had said anything to get the job done and so Tennant said you should go in undercover and Whistler hadn’t been able to walk her earlier comments back. Either way, she volunteered. Whistler pretended to be on the run. She supposedly had debts back in Canada and she doesn’t have a visa. Petrov thought she was perfect for the job.
Petrov threatened to report Whistler if she didn’t do this side job. Whistler agreed. They then dress Whistler up in Audrey’s uniform and drive her to a storage facility. Whistler stayed in the car while Petrov and her crew stole radioactive material from x-ray machines. Whistler realized they were getting material for a dirty bomb. She figured it out right around the same time as the team. The team had been with Audrey going over what was in the storage containers when they saw x-ray machines. Something Audrey never ordered. She, therefore, knew it was the bad guys were doing and told Tennant and Ernie.
Those two sent the crew watching Whistler go in to rescue her. But Whistler had been taken by boat onto the open sea. It turns out Petrov wasn’t running things. She was set up and killed and that left Whistler in a precarious situation. The bad guys wanted to kill her. Whistler ran away. One of the bad guys found her and they fought. Whistler remembered what Lucy taught her. She used it all on the bad guys and she was winning her fight when rescue arrived.
Lucy showed up and she treated Whistler’s wounds. Something she continued to do once they arrived back at their apartment.
THE END!
