In tonight’s NCIS episode, an electrician was making a commercial when a body dropped behind him. The body was identified as Retired Navy Commander Thomas Miller and it was believed at first that he killed himself by jumping off the top of his building. Miller was known to be depressed. He was actually in Palmer and Knight’s grief counseling group. They recognized him when they got called to the scene.

They told the others that Miller has been struggling with losing a friend’s death. The friend had died in combat overseas. Miller never got over of it and the group sessions were his last chance at getting better. But Miller’s had some contusions on his face that didn’t seem to come from the fall. Palmer thought it could be something more and so the team investigated Miller’s death.

They looked into Miller. Miller’s retried after his last flying mission that ended in his friend’s death and he seemed to have turned a corner in his grief counseling sessions. He was even talking to a grief sponsor. Which was someone to hold his hand as well as hold him accountable.

His grief sponsor was Former FBI Special Agent Fornell. Fornell actually called Miller on the day of his death. He called him about five times and so he was asked to come in. Fornell said that Miller had turned a corner in his sessions. He seemed to come to terms with the young Petty Officer that died under his command.

Petty Officer Sally Jordan was the youngest member of his team. She was also a friend. Her death had pushed him to retire and it unraveled her father Richard Jordan. Jordan never forgave Miller for his daughter’s death. He kept hounding him. Miller eventually had to take out a restraining order against him.

The order expired last week. Since then, Jordan has been reaching out. The team went to Jordan’s home and they questioned him. It turns out that Jordan wanted Miller’s help. Jordan had been contacted by his daughter’s old phone. It was a message claiming that they had her. they wanted fifty grand to release her and so Jordan thought right away it was a scam.

Jordan kept being harassed by these scammers. He contacted Miller to tell him about it and Miller might have done something to correct the program. This coupled with the missing person’s report seemed suspicious. There was a missing person’s report for a Thomas P. Miller.

Their victim was a Thomas A. Miller. Parker thought it was like a Terminator situation. Someone is killing Miller in the hopes of getting the right Miller and so they went to this other’s Miller’s home to talk to his wife. They saw from the family photos that weren’t two Millers. It was the same Miller. Miller was a bigamist with a second family. He even has a kid with the other wife.

This would certainly explain why Miller was keeping secrets from his known widow. He told Wife #1 that he was in counseling sessions with Dr. Grace when Grace said he wasn’t and that he must have been elsewhere. It turns out he was with Wife #2. Miller never discussed his military life with Wife #2. His time with her was an escape from his normal time. The second wife was so in the dark that she freaked out when they told her that her husband was a bigamist. She threw a picture frame at Palmer’s head. He got a nasty gash from it. Palmer had to sew it up and Palmer refused to press charges against Wife #2.

The second wife had no idea that her husband was cheating on her or that he had another wife. Technically, a legal wife because the second marriage didn’t count. Miller cheated on his first wife and he and Wife #2 got pregnant really fast. Miller proposed when he found out about the pregnancy. He was technically with the second woman for about a year. No more than that. Miller led a double life and he kept a second cell phone to keep track of everything. They found the second cell phone hidden in his car. They also learned that there was an incident on his last day with Wife #2.

Miller freaked out when he was helping his wife into the car. He saw something that freaked him out and he just left her there. No kiss goodbye. He also ignored her many calls. The team looked into what happened. They found out that Jordan was following Miller. They brought in Jordan to question him and he said Miller never saw him. It was someone else who spooked Miller. Some guy driving a silver car. Like his brother-in-law. Miller was seen with his second family by his brother-in-law from his first marriage. The team checked the DNA on the murder weapon. The weapon used to bludgeoned Miller to death and it was connected to the brother-in-law.

Only it wasn’t him. It was Wife #1. After the brother-in-law spotted Miller, he called his siter to tell her to talk to her husband. Olive Miller then contacted her husband. Miller came clean with her about his second family and he said he wanted to be with the new wife because he felt she set him free. He also mentioned they had a kid. Which set off Olive because she’s been waiting years to have a family. Years for her husband to be whole again and he was throwing her over for a new woman.

The team arrested their kill and they took down the scammers while they were at it. Torres tracked down an old witness that went missing and, while he was in Hawaii, he reconnected with Tennant. They were old friends. They were transporting the witness together when they were targeted by some mysterious shooter who made them flip their car.

THE END!
