British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are now headed to Scotland to join the rest of his family as Queen’s Elizabeth’s health takes a worrying turn.
The couple were to attend the Wellchild Awards in London this evening but they are now en route to Balmoral where the queen installed the new PR this week, Liz Truss.
Royal Family News: Duke and Duchess of Sussex Are En Route
Reports indicate that today members of the monarch’s family have hastily assembled at Balmoral, with her oldest son and heir Prince Charles flown by helicopter from his Scottish home Birkhall with his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
Princess Anne is with her mother and, “A flight carrying seven members of the Royal household – Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex – has landed at Aberdeen,” according to the Daily Mail.
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, wife of Prince William who is Charles’ heir, “is at Windsor with her three children.
She was seen driving to pick up George, Charlotte and Louis today after their first full day at their new school.”
A royal spokesman issued this statement: “Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
Royal Family News: The Queen Is Ailing
Hearing the news, royal expert Nigel Cawthorne said, “It leads us to believe the situation is much more serious than we’ve been told.”
This is down to the fact that statements regarding the Queen’s health are rare, “and suggests the situation is serious. It is also significant that all of her immediate family are with her or en route.”
Last fall the queen was hospitalized overnight for an undisclosed issue and the palace kept the news mum. Only after it leaked did they acknowledge the fact.
And now Britons concerned for the monarch, the only monarch many have ever known, are gathering outside the gates of Balmoral to pray for Her Majesty and pay their respects.
Many royal watchers felt that the 96-year old queen was not on the same footing after her beloved husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, died in April 2021. He was 99.
