In tonight’s the Bachelor episode, with every season, there was just one person who gets cocky about the whole thing. This season its Sarah and she might have every right to be after everything that happened. Sarah was almost sent home. Some thought Sarah wasn’t ready for marriage or kids.

She just didn’t seem the type to be ready to settle down at such a young age. But they told Clayton this. Clayton talked to Sarah about it and she denied the rumors. She said she was ready for something serious. He took her word on it. He even gave her the rose after their one on one date and so Sarah went back to the room confident in the fact that the naysayers weren’t able to get her. And she said as much when she returned to the other women.

Sarah admitted what happened. She said Clayton told her about the rumors and that she should have realized that her getting a second one on one would put a target on her back. She need to say it, but she wanted to rub that one in and it did tick off Mara. Mara was the one who first said Sarah wasn’t ready.

She didn’t know Sarah like that. They weren’t friends and so Mara said it to sabotage Sarah and now it looks like it backfired. Plus, Mara didn’t have the guts to say it to Sarah’s face. She tried to backtrack what she said. She claimed she went to Clayton with concerns about her and how there were some who have never gotten an one on one date with him.

Nevertheless, everyone figured it was her that tried to go after another woman. They were hoping for the most part that the drama will die down now and that’s not how this show works. Every second there will be drama. Mara or no Mara. Not that Mara wasn’t going to keep starting things while she was there and that’s what she did later on. They were all dressed. They were talking with Clayton one on one.

The other women were waiting while this happened and so Mara took this moment to confront Sarah. She apparently got riled that Sarah was too confident. She particularly didn’t like it when Sarah said the rumors about her were a last ditch effort by someone going home.

Mara hadn’t liked it. She accused Sarah of being cocky and she claimed Sarah was manipulative. She also said that Sarah’s choice of words were meant to belittle the other women and that she wasn’t having it. But it wasn’t meant for the other women. It was meant for the woman who got jealous about her date and Mara was clearly indicating that she was this person. Mara called Sarah boastful. Which could be true. Sarah got a date with Clayton and she was able to get a rose out of it. She also has friendships with the other women in the house. It therefore didn’t bother them that she was a little cocky about being safe.

It’s not like it’s a lie. Sarah was safe. She was safe along with several other women and Mara was sent home. She got sent home at the rose ceremony. Naturally, she was bitter about it although no one seemed to miss her and they were all happy to go from there to Vienna. None of them have ever been to Vienna, Austria before. The city is beautiful. The hotel room is gorgeous. The girls could have just focused on the vacation and enjoyed it and instead they worried about what came next with Clayton. It was the last week before Hometowns. Not every woman has gotten alone time with Clayton.

Clayton went on a date with Susie. They visited the square. They took in the architecture. It also got better from there because Clayton took Susie to a renowned Austrian designer. She got several outfits and they continued shopping from there. Susie returned to the hotel room with so many bags that the others got jealous. Susie also got a custom dress from the designer and she wore it later on the second part of her date with Clayton. They even went to a palace of all places to have dinner. It was something right out of a fairytale and Clayton played the part of the prince. He was a nice guy. He and Susie talked and she got a rose at the end of it because he said he was ready to meet her family.

Clayton and Susie also danced. They danced to a live performance of “Lady in Red”. Which was very fitting because Susie was wearing the custom red dress and Clayton certainly acted like a man already in love. Only his next move left everyone confused. Clayton’s group date with the rest of the women was at a therapist’s office. Vienna was the birthplace of Sigmund Freud. Clayton wanted to celebrate it and he also wanted to have couples’ therapy with the women to see who he wanted to take to Hometown week. He thought he was doing a good job understanding the women. He didn’t realize how much he was asking from them.

Some of the women have secrets. Some were a little closed off and didn’t want to talk to a therapist about it. Like Genevieve. Genevieve had so many walls up that she seemed hostile in therapy. Clayton sensed it and he pulled her aside to discuss everything. They both realize they weren’t the ones for each other. Genevieve didn’t get upset or anything. She simply went home. The other women were shocked to see someone go home at this point in the process. They didn’t think it would happen during their group activity. It made some of them doubt themselves and yet Sarah remained cocky.

Sarah said she got this. She bragged about loving therapy to the rest of the group and so they realized she was trying to undermine their confidence. If nothing else, Mara was right about that one. She spotted Sarah’s cockiness. She saw that Sarah was weaponizing it to have the other women doubt themselves and now the rest of the women were seeing it too. Including the therapist. The therapist later said one of the women was being performative. She didn’t say who and so Clayton wanted to get to the bottom of it. He talked to the other women. Clayton wanted their opinion about it and he talked to them one by one to find out who this woman was. And they all said Sarah.

Clayton also talked to Sarah. She denied everything. She tried crying again and Clayton had to tell her that he just doesn’t believe her anymore. He sent her home. Sarah tried to talk him out of it. Only he wasn’t having it. His mind was set. He sent her home and then completely forgot about her. He went on to have a good time with Serene. They had an amazing date and she gave him something he was looking for – loyalty. Sarah spread lies about crying on a date with her to undermine everyone else. Serene never did that. She put her faith in him and she checked up on him after he sent Sarah home.

Clayton still had to eliminate one more woman before Hometown week. He chose to eliminate Teddi. Teddi handled it gracefully. She hugged the other women and she walked out without a fight. She didn’t even ask Clayton what went wrong. She just left with no drama.

And that’s how it should be done.

THE END!
